Yup, I am a bit of a xrumer veteran, I think it is a work of art to be honest.

That said I use it as a tool for other things than spam links, these days I would rather either build a pbn and cloak it with manual 2.0's or simply buy high quality content and host it on high pr sites.

As mentioned above, it is quality not quantity now.

Yea, everything is niche and competition specific but imho you can easily kill your project giving it thousands of links in short time. Some sites will take just few or tens or hundred quality links to rank on first page so you don't need to spam the hell out of them risking to be banned faster than you ranked.

It seems like many people are confused about the amount or quality of the links i'm talking about.
So just to make it even more clear: I'm not talking about 100k links to the first tier and all from spammy blogs etc. That's not what im trying to say.
My point is that if you blast 5-10k or even 20k quality backlinks over one month and maybe 100k to the second tier and 200k to the third tier you will be able to rank somewhere in the top.
Of course you might be able to do the same if you have some crazy high authority links and a good diversity of your keywords, I haven't said that it doesn't work.

The whole point of opening this thread was to give a wake up call, you don't want to give a shit about what google says or what they want. You do your type of seo no matter what and rank to the top.
To me it seems like way too many people are scared for doing high volume linkbuilding because google says that they don't like it.

Honestly I don't even know why i'm giving such type of advise and it's funny to see so may dumb people who still don't get it.

why is it moronic? realistically speaking if you have enough money to spend on targeting high comp terms then I say go for it, because once you rank for it you make alot of money. Some terms obviously require more time/money than other terms to rank for but that doesn't make them a waste of time to go for.

Nobody is saying that this won't get you good rankings.

People are saying that you can get equally good or better rankings with far fewer backlinks.

And that means less chance of getting slapped.
Which means ranking for longer
Which means banking for longer.

It's still blackhat, but it's wiser blackhat.
