Me and my friend make websites built on WordPress. He usually makes custom design based on client's need. I code it into a WordPress template afterwards.

We were able to sell these solutions in a price range of $600 to $1400. However, we got those clients throught referrals. Now we need new clients and after reading many threads here, I decided to give a try to sending sales letters.

Goal is to make $5000 through webdesign sales (and possibly scale it up since we also offer PPC management, Real Time Bidding etc.).

My sales script goes like this (inspired by sales scripts found here on forum):

Dear Mr. / Ms. Brown,

I know you probably do not have much time, so I will introduce our services really quickly. We make successful websites that sell. No templates, but fair custom design.

We can make you an attractive website built on WordPress system that can help you get new clients.

See for yourself as our clinets did:

- "here goes a list of our previous clients" (for social proof)

If you want a website that works for you, contact us. We are happy to meet with you to discuss your needs without any obligation. We look forward to meeting you.

Best regards,
Leo00

Every envelope contains also a business card for later use.

First 10 letters were sent yesterday. More to go :) I will write update how this works. Meanwhile, wish us luck :)

Good luck dude. Simple, straightforward, I like it. I'd be keen to hear what sort of response you get, I was thinking of doing something similar locally.

I would make the letters more tailored to each person's business.

Doing that would show that the letter is not generic and if the potential client sees that you know something about their business they are more likely to use you.

It would take a little longer to draft each letter, but the extra sales will be well worth it.

You could also end the letter with something along the lines of...

I will give you a call on ('date and time') to discuss how our services can benefit your business in a little more detail. If you have any questions before then, or would like any further information, please feel free to call me on (your number) at any time.

This is setting things up for your next contact and as they know when you are proposing to call, they tend to be more receptive (in my experience).

Thank you guys for support and valuable inputs. I will try to make the letters more tailored as Trepanted suggests. Today I sent out another 10 letters :)

Is that the exact wording you used in your sales pitch? Then you need to have someone rewrite it.. nothing kills a sale more than spelling mistakes and bad wording!

Apart from that, I like the direct approach. Maybe add a 10% off coupon or whatever to get them feeling special etc

You do need to clean up the letter... I'll do it for you for free if you want. I'm not too shabby at that sort of thing.

Shoot me an email if you want me to do that for you - [email protected] - and I'll hop on it quickly.

Thank you very much guys, but the wording was translated from my language into english so as for the grammar I am sure the letter is fine in original :)

also, I dont know if you gone use that name "Leo00" below "Regards" but you should use real name, it will give them more confidence to reply back. This way it look unprofessionally.

Interesting approach. Where do you get your clients from? As they don't have websites...

Good luck.

I use my real name and my company's initials (we have an equivalent to a limited company). The nickname is there just for illustration :)

Good luck.

I find the companies through a directory listing. I choose only those in my city, which is cca 1 000 000 inhabitants. So far I was screening only those companies that seem to be running profitable, but have a website that looks like its 2001 :)

So far no response. Probably because this week, several days are holiday. I will give follow up calls after another week passes.

Today I altered the sales script in the letter. So far 30 letters are sent. 30 more to go next week :)
