So, if a writer charges $5 per 500-word article, his caliber for a 500-word article is only worth $5.00.

Nowadays, people have various definitions for the word "quality". Don't be shocked when the write-up of a mongoloid is seen as a quality content by some folks.

Not true at a certain degree. You'll get a "decent" writer at that rate if you're going to give him a bulk and continuous order. But if it's just a one-time or a seasonal order, that decent writer would rather sleep than write at that potato rate.
