New Girl Looking for Advice

Hey Guys

I've been lurking around here and there and finally decided to join the forum. Basically - I'm in a rut and I need some help. I am educated (I have a BA in digital media from a private art college) but I need to work from home right now - and I'm at the end of my rope.

I have been trying several ways to make income online - and I am not having enough success. Any help you can give me - I would appreciate it. I will even work for you! I just need to make enough money to get by right now. (If I could make 200-300 a week I would be happy as a clam).

I feel like I've tried a lot of things and it's just not working for me. It's also getting really hard juggling a bunch of different sources when I am not making anything decent from it. What I would really like to do is work for someone on here who has an established business and they need help.

Like I said - I can help make you money - I just want to make enough to get by. I currently work from home and am free from 8am-5pm central time Monday-Friday. Please get back to me! I am ready to work and make some money!

sure first i would make sure to get well acquainted with the forum rules then i would decide what i wanna try and then go through the methods listed on the forum, tweak them and not copy as they are and im sure you will succeed!
 
There are a ton of methods around, check stickies, top posts and just stalk around and see what others are saying. Do what others are doing (well the ones making money anyway).

It won't happen overnight, but you do have a realistic goal to work towards.

One problem I could spot right on is that you want to work 8 hours a day M-F and be done with it. You need to treat IM as a business and you are the business owner. So from day 1 forget about working 8 hours a day 5 days a week. You are not gonna make real money like that.

Secondly, organize it as a business. Decided what you want to work on service provider, marketer, a mix. I will recommend to pick 1 thing and learn it very well. Research, research, learn, read. The more you know about what you doing the better. Try not to jump and mix on to different things, its help to loose focus.

and my final advice, necessity makes you take bad business decisions. If you are in need get a job on the filed or get something on the side that can boost or allow you to work IM.

Oh just so you guys know - Here is what I've tried:

"task" sites, freelancing, data entry, affiliate site, dropshipping, auctions. Not getting any results.

Juggling all of these every day is getting to be too time consuming for not making anything.
 
Rachel i would suggest you to stick to one method at a time and not over do stuff...
 
Thanks - I understand what you are saying - but I have a second job that takes up weekends and nights. It's a start up, so I'm not making anything but am putting about 20 hrs a week towards it. I understand a business is not a 9-5 thing, I was just trying to express that I have a lot of free time during the daylight hours :)

The people saying stick to one thing are right, it's understandable that you're in a rush trying to look for the quickest way, but unfortunately, there really is no quick way. That's just what the people trying to make money off ya tell you. Anyways, good luck and I hope for the best.
 
1 - The easiest way to do money is finding weak competition keywords, create a website around it, and put some adsense ads.
2 - However, you need to learn each step and I don't really know your skills or resources

So, Here is my suggestion. Start writing articles for others. Sell 500 words for 5$ for start. write 10 articles (4 - 5 hours work ) a day. This 50$/day and 250$/week.

Now, you have money and 3 hours left everyday. Start learning how to do keywords research, setup a website and monetize it. With time you will write for yourself instead of others and your will make those 250$ / weak from your website ( passive income ). Now, outsource, repeat and scale :D

See, it's not that hard, you just need a good mind + dedication + and a lot of work

w130SN - I am no damsel in distress. I know how to pay my bills - I always find a way without help from anyone. I am no stranger to hard work and dedication - and I am not looking for a handout. But I am looking for some help because I'm not afraid to ask for it. I hope we can be friends - then you can see I'm no lil' girl looking for an easy way ;)

GreenGoblin - I have tried a lot of things - affiliate web site, freelancing my graphic design skills, freelancing my writing skills, $5 tasks, data entry, auction sites, surveys, other marketing, and a few more.

MisterCasanova - I am not looking for the quickest way - all of the things I have tried have been over the past few years. I have had normal jobs during this time - but the best thing for me right now is to be able to work from home so I can tend to the details of my other job as they come up during the day.

See - I have a second job in the evening (it's a kids entertainment start up) and a lot of my time and energy goes in to that - and has for the past year - however I am not getting paid to do the work there yet as we are developing some things. My role at this other job is as Writing Director and Social Media Campaign Manager for our start up. There are about 50 of us working on this - so it's a big commitment - but it doesn't pay yet.

What I really would like to do is to work for someone here who already knows what they are doing - and I can put in the hours and time. Like I said - I have very reasonable expectations....but for me right now even an extra 50$ a week would help.
 
Like someone has said start writing articles for people, maybe start on Fiverr to build up some start capital to produce websites and add content to them instead of selling it to others.
