Passive Income - Stock Media - $0 Required

For some people the option of "Stereo Mix" may not show up automatically.

In order to remedy this for windows 7(I can't imagine it's very different for any other version):
1. Open "Control Panel"
2. Go to "Hardware and Sound"
3. Press "Sound"
4. Press the "Recording" tab
5. Right click anywhere that the devices are listed and ensure that there is a check mark beside "Show Disabled Devices"
6. Right click "Stereo Mix" and enable it

It should now show up within audacity and work properly.

Hey Crypt, awesome to see someone giving it a whirl! Regarding approval; it seems to depend entirely on the site. Shouldn't take more than 24 hours maximum for your files to be listed (I believe most stock media sites use a staff member / curator to manually check and approve submissions, so it depends on whether the staff are currently processing uploads and the quality is sufficient).

It's been a while since I used XP, is this any use (youtube tut)?

Yes, making your own music would be excellent as well - There are a lot of niches for stock music, eg. corporate background music, game music, ambient music.

If you're using Audiojungle, I recommend checking out the "Popular Files" page to see which types of sounds & music have been selling well recently and capitalize on that

The best advice I'd give if you're manually tagging the samples yourself is to approach the process with a theme in mind.

Rather than gathering a mix of different sounds, which can get messy - build your audio samples based on a theme.

For example, tomorrow, start out with the theme of "breaking glass" in mind. You want to gather 20 glass smashing sounds. Before you even start recording, open up a Notepad document and write all your "glass smashing" related keywords down, basically create your "tagging template", eg.

Name:
Glass Smashing

Description:
The sound of a glass object or window being smashed. Ideal for games, animation and presentations.

Tags:
glass, shatter, break, smash, impact (etc.)

Now you can concentrate on ripping / gathering and uploading your files. Then you simply copy & paste your tag information into the file upload details.

Instead of uploading individual files, I highly recommend using the FTP upload option, which will allow you to upload all your sound effects at once.

For my larger uploads when I was actively uploading 20+ files a day, I'd leave them untagged in my account until around 100 untagged files were uploaded, then pay a freelancer (Philippines based) to log in and tag my files for me for a modest price. I referred to this in the guide as "outsourcing parts of the method". This was based on a trust system - worked out great and saved me a ton of time. Come this weekend, I'll be up to date on my current projects and I'll get back into adding bulk uploads to my portfolio and see about bringing her back on board.

Forgot to mention it fully in the guide - get your profile looking professional as well. Get a nice profile image up, a professional sounding blurb, plenty of keywords related to gaming, development, projects, animation etc.

OK - I don't like to be rude but something doesn't sound good here...

I just visit the website you suggest [ audiojungle ] and explore the "Top Sellers" for past month. The most popular seller who sells stuff like this (sound FX's) make last month almost 500 sales, in other words 17 sales every day. The price range is between 1$ and 4$ for his TOP quality sound effects (no re-recorded garbage from YT videos...) so for a mid-price of 2.5$ he sell material worth 42$ / day. In other words he earn +/-21$ per day (50% goes to audiojungle).

And we are talking about the TOP SELLER in this area (sound effects) with 1030 files and 11,388 total sales (in 3 years / almost 11 sales/day)

And you my friend, just with a simple software can earn 14.5$ / day re-recording sounds from YT videos??????

I wish every luck to all the members who plan to try this method. But the numbers are ruthless and the truth is that you can't earn this amount of money you dream, when the TOP SELLER in this sector earn less than 25$ / day using equipment worth 1000's of $ and (the most important...) he has experience and he is a professional!

This is your second post in the topic, and you're giving me the impression that there's some 'toe stepping' going on, based on your attitude.

As I said, I have around 800 sound effects spread across various stock media sites. They are high quality, cleaned, processed samples, put together with specific niches in mind; specifically, game development.

Not sure why you're suspicious, I wouldn't have bothered wasting my time putting this information up if it didn't work - I have nothing to gain, there are no affiliate links and I'm not advertising anything.

I also stated, clear as day, that this isn't a "get rich quick" method, it's an investment of time and effort which can generate a passive income. Some days I'll do well, some days I'll do really well, and some days I'll make nothing. It doesn't bother me, as it's all off the back of time and effort spent months ago, and minimal 'maintenance' in my free time - ie. uploading a few sound effects here and there.

I don't just use audiojungle, the key is diversity. There are dozens of stock media sites.

You mentioned in your previous post that the audio is "ripped from youtube", as if it somehow denotes 'low quality'. There's a near-infinite wealth of material on the internet from which to source out audio samples with excellent quality audio. Add in the know-how of audio processing and cleaning and you can easily meet and exceed the clarity of studio quality audio.

You mentioned you were (perhaps, still are?) involved in stock media. I think this may be linked to your apparent outrage?
