First, I apologize if this is the wrong forum to post this, but I had to ask the question.

HideMyAss has a "premium proxy list"

Has anyone here used those proxies? It seems like a relatively low cost for a lifetime email subscription to receive their proxy lists each day.

Also, I tried searching the forums, but couldn't find any good tutorials on scraping proxies. I currently use GSA SER, but am not against buying additional software if needed.

Thanks in advance!

If you want some good proxies that last alot longer than scraped proxies. The user proxygo offers a skype group for scrapbox proxies that are port scanned. It's a one time payment for a lifetime subscription. I recommend it over HMA if you're looking to use the proxies for scrapebox harvesting.

Remember that if you aren't paying much for HMA proxies, neither is anyone else, which results in two things:
  1. There's no barrier to entry; anyone can (and will) use them, even (especially) people who don't know or don't care what they're doing and have no reason to value the proxies
  2. It's also easier to blacklist those proxies if you're trying to combat spam

I use HMA VPN when I'm doing random shtuff online, but it seems to be nowhere near good enough for general posting.

liyong601c, How many proxies do you get in total?

solventnine: Good point, and I've seen this quite a bit with their proxies (absurdly low success rates, even with customized campaigns)

edit: I'd have quoted each post properly, but the posting filters were preventing me from posting reply for some reason. (I'd have donated a long time ago, but I don't want the reason for my donation to be based -even partially- on being able to reply to messages...)

This ^

I use HMA everyday, but just when I need to appear to be browsing from somewhere other than where I am. For that purpose, there are few better options.
