Cancelled Domain Instantly, How Long Until It Will Be Free Again?

Hey guys,

after finding this board, tasting blood and reading countless threads in this forum yesterday I was ready to get started with my first domain and even found a nice broad keyword to use for many subdomain blogs.

So I got that domain and hosting from Arvixe just to find many people here seriously warning about that hosting service an hour later. Needless to say I instantly cancelled. Worked out, got a refund, wanted to go to Hostwinds and get the same domain + hosting there. But even one day later the domain I registered and cancelled on Arvixe isn't available again so I wanted to ask: Do you know by any chance how long it takes for it to become available again?

A whois search (I'm by no means an expert on stuff like this) said registered on febr 12 2014 until febr 12 2015, but I cancelled!? Did Arvixe keep the domain and should I move on to another keyword/domain or do I have to wait a certain amount of time?

What you should have done was gotten a refund on the hosting and just transferred the domain name to your new host.

First domain, first mistake
The registration took only about ten minutes so I figured the cancellation wouldn't take much longer...

Unless the ol d hosts delets domain name it wont be available
You can ask them to delete it
