My New Kindle Adventure

I draw most of the material I have used so far from websites. Like using guides and such from related websites :) I do plan on sourcing some clickbank ebooks for my next book and having a go at re-writing them.

Insane that you have more reviews than sales :D Impressive!

Yesterday was pretty poor for me. 0 sales tho I did get 2 borrows. Book 11 is going on free promo today if anyone can help with a review :)

I think that was because of the free promo, with 200+ downloads. So a few of them plus the buyers have really come through. The higher the rating the close to the top of page one, and that's where all the gravy is.

Book 1 got 2 more sales this morning, and Book 2 got a sale right after the free promo ended. Book 2 had 4 ratings today, I know that must be why the sale rolled right in.

The cool thing about this thread is you get to see it from two different perspectives.

Ash1ey is pumping em out.
I'm writing them myself 1 a week.

So you get to see the pluses and minuses of each system.

Book 1 is in it's 8th day, 18 reviews ---- 16 sales + 1 borrow

Book 2 is in it's 2nd day, 8 reviews ---- 3 sales

Almost as if someone pulled the plug at Amazon for me.

No sales on either book last two days. 1 return. :(

Yeah my sales have been pretty low past few days. Haven't managed to get anything done over the last few days either, hoping to get back to things first thing on Monday.

I can see why so many Kindle threads die. You put in hours and hours of real work, waiting to see the fruits of that labor. Then you get a few days of nothing and frustration sets in quickly. This is the point where I think many get aggravated and move on to other shiny things to try. Pushing through is difficult when you don't see any cash rolling in consistently. Pushing through here is what separates the dead kindle threads from the few that are making some serious coin on the site.

Shouldn't that motivate you to work harder and to write more books?

EXACTLY!!! Made a new cover today and wrote a 7,000 word book today even though I was gettin PISSED!!! I just decided to man up and push on...... Book 3 will be formatted and on Kindle Monday! Onward and upward! ;)

I published a short 2,000 word book just to see how it goes. Gotten 156 downloads during it's promotion so far which is actually surprising given it's not a very good niche! Going to try to put more effort into my next one.

Book # 3 in free promo

Book 1 - 19 reviews ---- 21 sales + 3 borrows - 1 refund

Book 2 - 14 reviews ---- 6 sales + 1 borrow

Working on Book 4 in a new niche/new pen name tomorrow

How are things going guys? - this is a great thread and really inspiring.

Can you please tell me how many days free promotion are you doing at a time - the full 5?
Also, are you doing any other promotions other than KDP?

Thanks

No promotions for me, just running a 5 day free promo.
I write all the books myself, so I think that may be part of the reason for the huge amount of reviews I get. I think when you buy content the work suffers slightly, and this might be the reason I get 15 reviews so fast. I don't know, will keep you posted.

My 2000 word book ended up getting 477 downloads during it's free period (the full five days), which was very surprising to me. Sold one copy so far with no additional promotion. No reviews so far though.

I'm almost finished with my new book that will have at least 7000 words and be in a much larger niche. Looking forwards to seeing what kind of stats this one will get!

Also might start outsourcing books if I can find a decent writer for the right price.

Don't want to start my own thread so I'll just keep posting in here.

New book released now close to 8000 words. Cover is 10x better than my first book and it's far better in terms of quality and niche. Trying a small strategy to start my book's price high so when the free promotion kicks in people will think they're getting more value. Midnight of the last day of the promotion I will lower it back to the real price so sales aren't affected. Also submitted it to several ebook sites that promote free Kindle promotions.

Would love to hear how other people are doing with Kindle and *cough* looking at you OP. :p

Parallax, would you share any of your e-books sites that promote for free. The ones I found all suck or want me to pay.

Just popped in to say thanks guys for keeping this thread going.
I just released my first book last night (mostly due to this thread and the 'kindle is the ticket' one.)

I left it to be reviewed before I went to bed. got up this morning and one sale already. pretty stoked. 13000 words or so, one sale on day one. I'm hoping that's a sign of things to come.

Now to get on to submitting the book to various places for a free promotion thing for early next week. and starting to write book two.

Don't know whether to update in this thread or start my own. we'll see.

You're quite right. Been reading through and thought I'd join in as it's become a bit of a free for all.
That said, I'll not update until the OP turns up and ok's it.

On another subject, congrats to you, OP and everyone else who's made sales thus far!
