I have done it in the past, and it's happening again!

I know how to do SEO .. I know people make a lot of money with it, but I just find it hard to be confident enough to really take action.

I have found several keywords, built a site added articles and done some slight on page SEO, but when I look at the keyword in Google, I think to myself:

I can't out rank these (Even though the competition is easy)
My site doesn't provide anything for the reader
Why would they want to click my site instead of the others
I won't make money from this

Loads of doubts pop into my mind which stop me from throwing myself at it!

Am I set to fail?

Yes, you are set to fail because you are telling yourself that. Now I can tell you what is part of your problem. You building a website thinking on how much money you want to make, rather than building a site for its usage and then work on making the cash out of it.

Being that SEO and IM is 99% mental game, I urge you to put your IM plans on hold for a while. Go and do something to make you feel better about yourself (change your life circumstances, change the story you tell yourself, whatever).
Once you've done that, come back to IM - it will all just fall into place...

You can't accomplish anything good from a place of fear and insecurity.

If your sites don't provide value then you probably don't deserve to rank. This is something I've learnt over the past few weeks. As soon as I started providing value to my readers, my rankings increased a lot (was at #86, now at #33).

Been reading Matt Cutts diary lately?

Ha ha. I know. It sounds a lot like something he would say. I actually got it from an IM blog I've been reading recently. I can't remember whether it's Matthew Woodward or Spencer Hawes. One of them.

Of course you're set to fail. What a silly question.

Do you really think someone's going to say "You'll be ultra successful. What a killer attitude you've got" lol

The person who wrote that is a damn loser, but you can choose to be another person if you put in the effort. Those are just thoughts and together thoughts make up what we call a "personality". That personality is a loser. The person you're acting as is a loser, but you can play any role you like. Just pretend you're an actor playing the role of a confident successful internet marketer. It's just one approach I'm suggesting that might work for you. Treat it as a bit of fun. Dress differently, walk differently, talk differently. Act. Pretend you're practicing for a new role, which you kind of are. That new role will be your new life if you decide to permanently take on the new identity. :)

Matt Woodward is a genius, highly recommended.

This is not just about attitude. Chances are that your site sucks. Believing otherwise won't change that. Turn that general anxiety into something useful. Figure out how you can actually make your sites and your SEO better. From there you will find success, and with success you will find confidence.

Success boosts confidence, and confidence is an ingredient in success.

Doing things well, getting results, and building confidence from that works better than pop psych.

you are not alone in this. i am saying almost the same thing as you. it's tough if the top sites are built with so much quality but yours (mine too) is made out of money in mind.

You remind me of an old lady I know. She desperately wants to win the lottery so she could take care of her family and travel, and enjoy life. She even prayed regularly for the Lord to let her win the lottery. One day I stopped by and she asked me to pray with her. After we prayed I heard a voice boom out of the sky and say:

"Buy a ticket"

My site doesn't provide anything for the reader
There is no end to what idiots on the internet will read.

Why would they want to click my site instead of the others
Because you are in the top 3 positions and people automatically click on those results. They are idiots, like I said. The better question is "Is there anything on my site to keep them there?"

I won't make money from this.
Hardly anybody hits it out of the park on their first try. Its called on the job training.

Your problem is that you are afraid of success.

I wouldn't say afraid of success, more like afraid of rejection/failure.

im not sure what this thread was supposed to do? im not really sure at all but all i have to say is stop bein a pussy and harden the fuck up

You need to do some soul searching and get to the root of what is holding you back. Go to the library and check out some self-improvement books like 7 Habits of Highly Successful People, even Think and Grow Rich, Rich Dad, Poor Dad, etc.

Get rid of that stinkin' thinkin' if you expect to go anywhere in this or any other business.

Yes you can with some proper research and the right approach. Don't just go and spam everything on your site in the hopes of outranking. Maintain good quality link profile and then focus on quantity as well.

My site doesn't provide anything for the reader
Then improve the content and offer some value.

Why would they want to click my site instead of the others
Rank your site in top 3 and you'll know the answer.

I won't make money from this
Same answer. Bring some traffic first.

Am I set to fail?
With this mentality, yes you're about all set to fail. Change your way of thinking and bring some positivity in your thoughts. Have a little faith in yourself.

Why are you so afraid to fail? Do you still crawl around your knees because when you were a kid you failed to walk the first time? Of course you failed. Failure teaches us things.

If you never fail you aren't even trying to live. Fuck that.

Damn the competition the race is about quality. I'll build a website and go up against anyone. Most websites are unmitigated crap, and the people who search are idiots. Just get in the top three spots.

Don't you realize that the top result for any search query is the best that google can offer, regardless of how crappy it is? When a better site comes along it will be number one.

Look for keywords that have crappy sites in spot one.

You would be amazed! Just saw them leaving a WF conference.......

Success need hard work and a strong focus mind.Just take a look at some journey threads where some members started getting $100 to $10,000 per month.Try to empty your mind from such failure thoughts and be strong and positive and you will definitely succeed.
