hi,I was just wondering if it was possible to build decent traffic without the use of automated tools or relying on Google especially with the advent of social media. Up to now I have done a few websites but I have relied solely on referrals from other sites in the niche. Please tell me what you think. Thanks

Post quality content that people want to share. It can take more than a year of hard work and many quality posts for a blog to take off.

Start researching different techniques of grabbing social media traffic. Facebook and pinterest have been doing well for me lately. I havent had quite as much luck with twitter but I'm not putting much emphasis on it. YouTube can bring some amazing traffic as well but has been a tough nut to crack recently.

What are you talking about, more than a year? "Take off" I understand that term as when the blog starts to generate income. You can achieve that in 3 months.

OP - It depends on what you actually want to do and the effort and time you will have.
I started a mega authority project about 2 months ago, already have around 80 posts (all 500+words and hq writers) and its already picking up and increasing. I have no doubt I'll be reaching 500UV/day in the coming 2 months, but I am going to push to for 1k/2months.

In either case, I put about 3 posts per day, every day; people return and new people come and visit either from LSI kws or from social media. I get 10 social media sites updated with the posts, so that also helps with the reach. And don't get me wrong, I spend around $200/month tops atm. Also got a girl doing videos (no, not fiverr), so that brings a few visits as well.

I would recommend you to either start a big auth site on something that you really like or to go full on social media / spam / bots etc. Either way, it will take loads of effort and time, so be prepared for it.

It's a waste of your resources to be writing for nobody. Rather than starting from an audience of 10 people and slowly growing that base organically, your new site/blog should be aggressively marketing. Not to say spending money necessarily (it does help), but you should be adding followers to your site/blog one person at a time with off-site efforts.

Do the math. If your site/blog grows its readers by a certain percentage each month, through word of mouth and so on, and if you start with 200 readers instead of 10 readers, you'll be ahead by 20x at every point along the curve. When the piddling 10-reader thing gets to 200 readers, the other one will already have 4,000 readers. Don't waste your time working for a year just to get to the lower margins of popularity.

Targeted content. Find a niche and then fulfill it. Then grow from there

Yeah great articles help Im with creating an authority site everyone on this forum should have at least one of them and don't spam the hell out of it go white hat so that if anything should happen with your black hat sites you got a plan b until your black hat sites are ready to roll again...just my thoughts.

Social Media Marketing, for sure, is a great way to build organic traffic.

As previously members said, what I think is that you should increase your niche quality and than scale it with social media, more traffic means more probability of banking more. Social signals are a plus to me.

Without a doubt, social media can be an incredible source of traffic. But note that in order to get stable daily social media traffic, you will need to do a lot of non-stop hard work, and that can take some time before you can actually see the results.

First and foremost, you need to work out a plan of your social media campaign. You need to set up your goals and decide what you will be using social media channels for. Is that gaining exposure for your brand, direct interaction with your customers or just promoting specific products and services.

Once goals are set, you will need to work out your posting strategies. Ideally, you should post on all of your social networks two to five times a day. The point is that your followers visit social-media sites at different times of the day, so to get maximum outreach, you will need to stay active.

And finally, you need to decide which type of content you will be sharing on your social accounts.

Mind that certain types of content generally work better on some social-media platforms and worse on others. For instance, Facebook, Google+, Pinterest and Instagram are purely visual, so memorable images of your products, company events and behind-the-scenes snapshots can result in great amounts traffic on these platforms.

Also, social media websites are great tools to promote your own content.

And the last important thing to do is to continually track your social-media marketing metrics in order to gauge which tactics and types of posts work and which don't.

Hope you find these tips useful.

for me youtube and facebook is the best to bring huge traffic besides seo.

What is you niche?

Different niches require different tactics.

If you're aiming to build a site solely for the purpose of monetization, then I think going all white hat may not be for you.

If you wanna go white hat, you gotta have full commitment to your brand. You have to live the brand everyday. You gotta BE the brand itself. You have to know your products intimately so when customers ask, you can provide them with information with integrity and usefulness. This will require you to seriously learn what your brand is all about.

Time. You need TONS of time on this. And that's just part of the whole. You gotta develop ways of creating and syndicating content through various channels.

A video, a picture, a piece of music, or an awesome article. You can start with those and then explore ways on how you can resonate your brand.

Of course there's the numbers (analytics) that you need in order to benchmark your results. You need to study them carefully and see which provides the most organic traffic and build your next strategy.

And then there's social media to share your content and nurture your customers at the same time.

Hope this helps. Sorry if I wasn't able to discuss in detail. Kinda sleepy. If you got questions, feel free to send me a PM.

Cheers!
