301 re-direct

My question is this:

I bought some expired domains in my niche. They have no content on them

For a 301 re-direct is it better to:

1) have content on them that is niche related to pass link juice
2) no content on them
3) makes no difference

Example:

Money site:

Dry cleaning Dallas

Bought expired domains (blank)

bestdrycleaningsupplies
topdrycleaners

Should I put dry cleaning content them and then do the 301, or just point them as is?

If it is better how much of a difference does the 301 make with content on the site that passes the juice?

I've heard it both ways, however I can't say that I have any personal experience proving one or the other.

I'll be looking forward to what other people have to say.

If you are going to 301 you don't need any content as the site wouldn't ever get crawled or indexed as bots will be also redirected to destination site

I guess it partially depends on if you're planning on doing any additional link building.
It's a matter of opinion, but if you won't be building any additional links to the sites you're redirecting I'd say you'll probably be OK not putting any content on them.

Thanks for new knowledge guys. Personally, I mainly use 301s to redirect duplicate/mirror pages.. For example, world-wide-web main site with Google index and non-www version .

Yes, that's a good practice. Make sure your www's are redirected to your non, or vice versa.
However I think this is usually done automatically by most hosts if you configure things correctly.

The 301 redirect is seen as a "permanent move" of the content, and the links to the page, to a new location and the search engine acts accordingly. It just doesn't care about the content located on the 301-ed domain.

That's why it's not necessary to place any content there.

There is no difference. Google bot is redirected to a new page before it can read the old page.

I think I see what you're saying.
So can you buy a domain (with preexisting links), 301 redirect it to your money site (with no content on it), and continue building links to the domain you bought for extra link juice? Or would you prefer to cease building new links to a site that you're going to 301 until you actually redirect it?

No content needed, it will pass backlink juice to your site same as if you would have 1 link on that page.
