How to get website traffic to new website?

Started a new Technology website called Ziffid. It features rumors and news about Apple, Android, Xbox and Playstation. I have 11 posts so far and I created the website about a week ago. There is one problem though... I HAVE NO TRAFFIC! NONE!! The only traffic I have gotten from is from StumbleApon, and that is it! Does anyone have any tips on how to get good organic traffic from a new website like this? In your opinion about what amount of traffic should I be expecting to get after I gain some authority? Thanks for the help!

How do I go about this? Won't the nonunique content make Google not rank it as high?

You can buy traffic or do some seo and rank your site. Your site is still new, speaking of new if you're expecting to get traffic right away you must be fairly new to im.

I think back linking is still the best, leaving traces of your site from forums and high PR sites related to your website. Juicing can also help, getting traffic from your sub-blogs will send a little signal to google that might eventually put you to higher rank in SERPS. Basics still work!

Depends what type of site you are trying to build.
if it's a niche/blackhat site then you need to do some keyword research, SEO etc.
But I get the dealing you are trying to build an authority site, if that's the case, then don't be so jumpy - it takes time to start getting traffic in.

Just ts keep posting articles, do some work putting the name about - get involved in the community etc.

TBH, it is one competitive place you are dealing with. however, for the first 1000 visitors you should rely on social media and convert your visitors into subscribers. create a page and make some audience, spend some time building your audience while you're developing your websites. well it's a long process.

Try to concentrate on really long tail keywords with minimal competition, then you can reserve a place on SERP.

Thought it would be fun. I don't think I will get alot of visits to the homepage, but if I can get my posts to rank high, I think I can get them to go there, then potentially bring them back to the homepage.

If you want a traffic source that will allow you to send passive traffic streams to your website then I would highly suggest you use Yahoo Answers. Watch out when you post answers on live questions as it will lead to your account getting banned if you promote your site too often. Try answering some reference questions because they tend to look past your link when you answer those.
