Is this stuff even allowed. Even if it is, I think it shouldn't be.

While browsing through the YouTube section, I found this user ( who happens to be a B-S-T owner) purposely having something disrespectful of the 'competitor' on their account.

Well, it seemed a bit weird to me so I dug a little deeper and found that this user has been trashing the other seller and his service is subtle ways (more than just a few times).

So is this sort of stuff allowed? Do your own business and don't try to ruin others for Pete's sake...

I agree, instead of focusing on bringing a competitors service down they should be figuring out how to make theirs better, more competitive.

Is this in the Youtube section? It happened to us a few times, I don't know whether you saw it or not.

The competition is fierce and that breeds jealousy - the jaundice of the soul. Therefore, people resort to attacking each other.

Exactly. Ive got half a mind to reveal who that user is but waiting for some feedback from staff before I do.

That user actually had on his/her user title something that was disrespectful of the other and still has. I bet he will change it when he sees this thread but Im pretty sure admins can see usertitle history.

Nail on the head. It happened in the YT section and the user in question also trashed the competitors service in the lounge a couple of times.

I think I saw it earlier too-

'Eating Skittles' or something to that effect.

Ah yes. The same person all right. It isn't the first time he is doing it. Ive seen him trash the service more times than once.

NOTE TO ALL : Please do not reveal the user until we know its absolutely against the rules.

RW if people are on purpose bashing a sales thread
to further there own pass it to wiz / blackhit / BB

I would do that but the thing is, they are so subtle about it, you can recognize it only if you know both the sellers well. And when he was trashing the service in the lounge, he made sure that it would seem as though he is talking on behalf of the people and not as a competitor, but I and other regulars know better. :)

Looks like a serious thing.

But again, don't hate the players, hate the game.

Sounds like a bad move to do it on the forum.

Nothing like shitting on your own doorstep.

I don't hate anyone, I just wanted to share the first image/meme that came to mind. I agree with your earlier statement however. Besides there is enough money to go around imo.

i think i have seen him.

but , i am not sure about him.

send a pm to TMW, he will be able to find out full story.

RW is right about it being subtle. I've seen competitors ask for samples, etc...then they come back and post a bad review. I think no BST owner should be allowed to comment on a BST unless it's something strictly positive....at least not on the same niche as a competitor. Say a links BST owner could post a bad review about content, writer as a customer, but to post to another link thread...I find that sort of unethical.

Tricky considering you may leave a review, and wind up opening a BST in the future without knowing it at the time.
I believe in honest reviews, but yes, a competitor being a brat about things is just silly. I recall leaving an unpleasant review on G-S-T's service but took it down when things looked up over time & he handled things well. That was my foolishness in not being patient.
Be honest and considerate if you're a customer; be mature and prosperous if you're a competitor.

It is annoying but unless they are saying anything untrue about their competitors
or making false claims about their own then it's really nothing more then smart marketing.
Take the BMW Audi advertising war for instance.

Exactly. To tackle this Ive seen many B-S-T owners include a short line when giving out review copies

'No B-S-T owners allowed'

although it is a bit shallow, it may be a step in the right direction to prevent abuse on B-S-T. I don't have evidence to back up some claims like how Ive seen shill accounts created for the purpose of trashing a b-s-t but I'm sure many others realized that by now.

If they offered a good quality service then maybe they wouldn't need to spend time bashing someone else's service. Also, I don't think is should be allowed and quite honestly I don't think it is. If you see this, report it to the MODS and let them handle it how they see fit.

It's funny, I actually saw the user you are talking about today and thought that it was a little ridiculous. Weird that we noticed it around the same time.
