yep im still alive. Sorry for my long break. But here is an Update on my project.
I really had trouble with all the work that is involved in such a Site. I found my self numerous times just to browse BHW instead of working on my project. I had to push myself to get the things done. I feel like i grow personally on that process. Also i push my self even further by making commitments like go to a tax adviser, get the legal stuff done you need in Germany for basically everything etc. I force my self to success, well hopefully

Let?s check my time plan from the first post:
? Project IT is definitely on track again! Can keep all my goals but shift the Linkbuilding a bit back since it?s to early to do it now.
? Steps on my IM career:
Well I?m learning a lot about IM obv.
Still I have no Mentor but I think that?s ok. Learning by doing gets the job done, its a bit slow and expensive but who cares..
I definitely won?t start another project soon since I have no idea how that all is turning out.
I will start a new niche site project as soon as I know what I can outrank and what not and with what cost.
Maybe I will start a Blog or step into e-commerce in the meantime (March 2014)? but i would rather want to push my Authority Page further.
What I did since the last update:
Site is up and running. Have to optimize a bit these days.
Keyword wise I decided to dump marked samurai and use LongTailPro just because of the Keyword Competitiveness feature. Well it turns out that I found lots of nice keywords with LongTailPro too. On the other hand I noticed that some of my former keywords chosen with Market Samurai are very competitive (KC > 50 in LTP). That are mostly very generic terms which I use as an category for some better long tail keywords. With a silo structure I try to rank for those generic terms too. We?ll see how that works out.
Overall I analized around 10k Keywords with my excel sheets to pick out the best Keywords with a good Keyword Competitiveness / Reward ratio. The problem is that I don?t have a feeling for Keyword Competitiveness right now. As I mentioned I have no clue what I can outrank and what not.
For
content creation I was quite happy with the content from Pete here on the forum, but he got a ban and stopped responding to my mail. So I tried ODesk to find writer. At first I hired regular writers there for 1$/100Words but I was not so happy with the result. So I put on a Job for 20k Words on a very specific Topic and found a guy that?s very skilled in that Area. He was to most expensive guy but even so it?s just 300$ . So he writes for 1.5$/100 and to content is amazing! He finished 6 Articles with about 9k Words in total till now. That?s my Pillar articles for my site.
Based on that content I recently put another Job in odesk to use one of the high quality articles and adapt it to another field (quite easy task, main work is using google to find the information).
17k Words for 70$. I will let you know how that turns out ïŠ
For the
Site Structure & Interlinking I did a gigantic mind map with all my keywords/Worthy factor(Money Potential/Keyword Competiveness). I grouped some Keywords together and plant the Linking Structure on that mind map.
The end result is not that great? I guess I have to write my own tool for that :/ or do you guys have a good idea?
Overall Status right now:
? I have about 15 Articles/12k Words online now with Monetization via Amazon & UDEMY affiliate + Adsens. I included ~2 stock pictures in each article and did a bit adjustment to make them relevant (added Text on them^^)
? Another 20k Words (20 Articles) will come till the end of the year.
? Interlinking is not in place right now. I want to do that tomorrow.
? My plan is to start ranking the site at the end of the year.
I have to do some study on a natural link profiles to replicate that (Matthew Woodward does have some stuff but I want more information).
My plan is use 1-2 Blog Networks from BHW + some T1 blasts done by myself + a few likes from fiverr/BHW. It have to look like a rapid, but natural grow.
At the start of the new year I am going to create an small eBook with little interviews of authorities in my niche to promote my email list. At that point a jump into Aweber and try to get it up and running?
Next steps:
- Do some more KW research on another small subniche that looks promising / find target subniche. (19.12.13)
- Create Site&Linking Structure for that subniche (20.12.13)
- Order 20k Words on another little subniche to cover that. (22.12.13)
- Have 40k Words content about my main nice to cover that area. (31.12.13)
- Start ranking the page (1.1.14)
- Create Email List & get people on it. (7.1.14)
- Split test Opt-in form to find a good layout. (8.1.14)
- Do another KW Research to find the rest of the keywords that might be profitable and order 20k Words on them.
- I want to do some small YT videos for the Site as well just to test out how that works. Maybe get a few from Fiverr too. Something with site promotion + Affiliate offer maybe so i get a little experience in that.
At that Point I should have spend 600$ on content and 1xx$ on Links. So it?s time to step back and optimize and let the thing grow. Or maybe not, we will find out ïŠ
I already have a new niche spotted that seems quite profitable and I don?t see a reason why I shouldn?t be able to rank for it, but I won?t take action until I see the ranking on my site in action.
