Google PR Update - Dec 6

How does a site with:

Citation Flow 43, Trust Flow 38
6,486 backlinks
197 Referring Domains
184 Referring IPs

Fully white hat, no Negative SEO done to it, go from a PR 5, to a PR0 with this update. Any idea why the F*** that would happen?

I'm pretty sure Google itself doesn't know why.
By now they probably seriously question their point of existence...

This update is with old data..I'd say from at least 4 months ago.

Either way I have several pr5 sites now lol

I agree with this - seems to be based on old data, probably several months old. The main reason why PR is not a useful metric is because its not a real time dynamic measure - it doesn't get updated for months and months, and when it finally does get updated, it appears to already be outdated! Not only that but the patent is running out soon too.

Most of my domains have had PR remain stable, with the rest going down around 1. Only a few actually went up in PR.

The updated PR metrics are hard to work out. The domains with the strongest backlink profiles stayed stable or went down by 1 PR, but a PR 5 domain I purchased cheaply that I thought had a pretty weak backlink profile and was going to drop PR for sure - well it stayed at PR 5. And out of all of my domains it is ranking the worst!

Funny part is that at least 3 of my domains that went from PR0 to PR5 have all been since hit with penguin or SAPE manual penalty.

PR matters, only when it's not affected by algo or manual penalty.

I'm sitting on several PR5 sites that don't rank worth a shit lol

Well mates I called that one, I think someone owes me $100 on here. I made a bet with a fellow member who was tied to the matt cutts kool-aid.

Just gotta track down that member. Keep in mind matt cutts is a fucking donkey people and nothing more than a puppet for Google's anti-seo propaganda. Google does provide clues of what's going on through Matt but most of the time it's nothing more than fluff.

Matt isn't the be all or end all of SEO.

Ranking still increasing on my PR 0 websites. Got some new PR3 and PR4 sites now, however.

All new sites that we have created this year went from PR 0 to PR1 , PR2 -- old sites dropped a little and some are the same.

I re-registered few expired PR3-5 domains during this year. Some of them were pointed to running websites, some were responding with 403 error and very few were not resolving at all. The last ones got PR dropped from 4-5 to N/A :) Though link profile hasn't changed a lot. So I guess sorting expired domains by pagerank will become harder now as Google 'revokes' pagerank of domains, which are not resolving.

Yaaay! I got from 0 to ... 0 :| Well, my website is not even a month old, what did I expect? :))

I tend to agree that the pr exported this time around is months old.

What's interesting is that Matt Cutts noted they exported the *new* data to the toolbar. If this is the newest pr data Google has, which is months old, it may show how unimportant it has become to them. Google's modern day algorithm is more reliant on manual reviews, giving boosts to their lobbying cartel members and driving everyone else into Adwords IMO.

some of my sites's PR changed, some of them not, so i have a question...
does the PR toolbar update is rolling at once for all sites/pages?

thanks

I also agree that this is old data I've had a website go from PR0-PR5 which I pretty much abandoned in April and it has absolutely no where near the link profile for a PR5 in the past it did have a PR7 link though.

The update is definitely not "up to date"!! I'm seeing from a bunch of sites (sites like 40-45 PA/DA, 20-30 CF/TF) with PR0. The common denominator is that the sites were linked in the last 3 months, so the update seems to be from somewhere around August as least.

Then again, sites that were abandoned 3-4 months ago and lost all links in the process are sitting on PR 4-5 against PA/DA 1/1 and absolutely no TF/CF.

What I think is that Google (once again) trying to mess with people's minds.

The domain that I bought and just added content to stayed at it current pr! I'm surprised I thought it was going to drop.

Traffic on my site has gone high but PR came down. I know one spammy site that has moved higher from PR3 to PR5. I am not sure whether Google has been able to do justice with all the sites this time. What do you say?

You should understand PR which you see on toolbar and the traffic you get on blog or website is different thing. Traffic is depend on the keywords u chose and referral website. PR is depend on backlinks that is pointing to your website with the link juice passing in them.
Apart from this Matt Cutts is not that much fool, he know everything and whats going to update.
