bought 25 network links with PR from 1-3 six days ago, now they are N/A... poor me

What i learnt from Matt and what you should is to don't trust on this person and his updates which comes from twitter account. I can not say it is lie may be he want to give us little surprise.. A Christmas present..

You shouldn't take what Matt Cutts says literally.
You take what he says, invert it, translate to Russian and back using babelfish, and then it may make some sense.

Traffic on my site has gone high but PR came down. I know one spammy site that has moved higher from PR3 to PR5. I am not sure whether Google has been able to do justice with all the sites this time. What do you say?

Dont thank him as he is in a blue moon right now, and after knowing that there has been a PR update he will say 'WTF'. Check what he said 2 months ago.
Matt Cutts is good at misleading people. There are so many examples and it being one of them.

That's right. Sometimes I think, that Matt is nothing more than a front man, that speaks whenever Google punches SEOs below the belt.
On the other hand that's nothing new. Google is always saying different things and doing different things than they said.

I don't sell network links but 2 blogs in my personal network went to PR4 because I went by other measurements. They were both N/A when I bought them.

I will repeat myself, because I think I already mentioned this in another thread but whatever:
One site that is dominating the SERPs in the niche lost PR but is steadily gaining ranks and traffic for the last few months.
Other site in the same niche totally fell out from SERPs (perhaps a penalization) and have almost zero traffic gained PR and actually have bigger PR than the other site.
I was checking some other sites, not mine, but I have been communicating with them and eventually buying links from them and:
Gained PR: sites that have been adding new content on regular basis, building links (basically had a good "maintenance") and were reluctant to sell links
Lost PR: sites that are just sitting there, doing nothing and selling links like crazy
OK, I know I didn't say anything new but the point is - PR can still be used as a relevant metric but you also need to use many other factors to evaluate the quality of the site.
And for the PR of your own site - you really don't need to bother with it (although this doesnt apply if you are in the "link selling business") - PR doesn't affect your SERPs and sure as hell it doesnt affect your traffic.
...so TGIF everybody!

Agree with you, but 90% of people look for PR before buying the service/blog posts.

This makes no sense. Most of my PR3's dont even have a website and are just sitting.
