Hey guys,
How's everyone doing on this shitty overcast day!? I'm creating this quick journey thread as a form of motivation, to share tips and tricks with the community and gather insight from you guys as well! Where's the motivation of this thread derive? Take a step into my world, I'm fortunate enough to have been giving a quality education from parents whom would feel more content in giving me the opportunity to undertake a good education over anything else. I've since completed year 12 VCE (highest achievement for high school in Australia) and I'm currently undertaking a bachelor degree majoring in Marketing. I know, lucky me right?
Here's the thing.
I DESPISE it - the entire concept of school, I hate how it renders creativity useless, teaches you to listen to the man, work under the man, and live out your life as nothing other than.. a man working a 9-5 job, slaving away, kissing arse.
The reason I've created this is to prove that I don't need to be another schmuck working for a boss, to prove to myself that I can make it and this is my calling. So over the next 3-4 months of summer holidays, I will be documenting my progress. I'm going to be blunt throughout this thread - thought that's worth mentioning from the get go. I'm not a smart aleck, nor am I set on creating a persona of a douche bag - I'm motivated, there's a difference.
A little about me - I'm not going to con you into believing I've been hard done by, that things haven't worked - because that's entirely not true. I've done it all, sold ebooks, made logos, written articles, hired PAs, had dozens of websites, been around for the four letter boom, I've made $700 in a day, and I've lost upwards of $2000 in investments that have gone wrong - you get the picture. I begun internet marketing at around 13-14, simply making logos for teams on an online football management site until someone approached me to make them a business logo - that was my first $75CAD, and the bug bit me - I knew I wanted to work online.
That soon evolved to creating logos for DigitalPoint contests, which I soon grew bored of in search of something that would be more profitable. I moved to creating MMO eBooks, collating information, selling it to people that were more than happy with the information and experiences I had to share. I ran content blocker sites when they were hot, and at the age 14-15 I was up around the $1k a month mark. I sold off the sites in search of something a little less 'illegal' - whilst I can do Blackhat, the guilt or moreso worry I was experiencing was just too much, and I soon moved out of internet marketing to focus on schooling commitments and to just live a normal teenager life which I had deprived myself of spending day and night filling my mind with limitless amounts of information.
And so begins this journey thread - whilst I can comfortably say I've earned upwards of $10-15k working online, I cannot claim it has been sustainable - this is my goal - to have a sustainable income. My ULTIMATE goal being to be able to work from home, not to earn $xxx a day, but to really make it, to be ridiculously successful - that's my motive.
What I have at my disposal:
- My recipe/cooking website I co-own with my girlfriend which will form the base of my sustainable income - intention is to drive traffic through social media and SEO, I created it almost a year ago, primarily monetising with Adsense but will look into selling my own products, etc. Traffic high was 600 UV a day back in July when we were a couple of months into running the site, at which point I no longer had time to keep updating it. I have since boosted it back up to 200UV a day over the past few days
- A number of pinterest accounts with 100+ targeted boards
- BHW and the greatest internet marketers on this planet to speak to
- Years of experience with what works and what doesn't
This won't be a starting with $0, building my way up investing what I make type thread - if I need to invest $1k to get something happening - I have the belief in myself that I can make this work. I'm going to give it my best shot, this IS do or die, if I make it I'll live the dream, if not, at least I know I gave it my all.
Throughout the beginning of this journey and the next few days I will be reading up on as much as I can, getting to know the new algorithms that have been put in place, CPA networks, etc - A lot has changed in 3 years.
Enjoy the journey, look forward to connecting with you all!
