BitCoin and Cryptocurrencies - Will they fail? My 3 Predictions!

Yes, and I must admit you 're taking the beating with a sport attitude, so kudos :)

Ha, cheers.

The funny thing is, people seem to think I am against BitCoin, I am not.
I actually WANT to be wrong and WANT it to WORK.

If you are so sure about your prediction like you mean, please trade... and dont forget to report your great succes here.

I enjoy so much the only guy in earth who know everything.

"i think i will rise at 320 the 13 febuary, but will down little bit on 15th. And after a major drop at the end of april"

please...

Everybody is waiting for a little down... but no body know when it's will happens and if it's better to buy bitcoin now or waiting. Me i'm waiting since i bought enought bitcoin at 180 for my use... so all service like hosting i'm buying now are way cheaper for me.

But i'm not a trader, is just a good opportunity for me. I just believe in it, and i keep my "saving" bitcoin for at least 5 or 10years.

Why would I trade in something that I am saying will crash?

I might bet on a few point movements up or down.

if you want it to work, you should accept bitcoin for your seo service or bot service or i dont know whatever you do here :D

And when you have some, you should start to want to pay yours service with it. Don't worry the community is very active. reddit/r/bitcoin will make it work.
I'm always sending a mail to internet company who don't accept bitcoin, and really i'm very upset SEO don't use it, and BHW is very late on it, don't you are a geek-computer-addict community ? So bitcoin is your friend. I'm not telling you to put you saving money on it.
Just use it, this forum is worldwide, and paypal is hell.

[h=1]Bitcoin Is A Joke[/h]Source:http://www.businessinsider.com/bitcoin-is-a-currency-for-clowns-2013-11

Bitcoin is back in the news, as the digital currency has surged to new all-time highs in recent weeks.

A few weeks ago, it was just above $100. Today it's over $260.
This surge has prompted Timothy B Lee at The Washington Post to ask whether those who have called it a bubble in the past should retract and admit that they were wrong.
Well I'm not totally sure if I've called it a bubble, but I have spoken negatively of it, and I'll say that I still think it's a joke, and probably in a bubble.
Now first of all, I find the premise of Lee's post to be hilarious. The currency has been surging several percent every day lately, and that's evidence that it's not in a bubble?
Before going on, I want to be clear that saying something is a bubble is not saying it will go down. It could go to $500 or $1000 or $10,000. That's the nature of manias.
But make no mistake, Bitcoin is not the currency of the future. It has no intrinsic value.
Now this idea of "intrinsic value" when it comes to currency bothers people, and Bitcoin Bugs will immediately ask why the U.S. dollar has intrinsic value. There's an answer to that. The U.S. Dollar has intrinsic value because the U.S. government which sets the laws of doing business in the United States says it has intrinsic value. If you want to conduct commerce in the United States you have to pay taxes, and there's only one currency you're allowed to pay taxes in: U.S. dollars. There's no getting around this fact. Furthermore, if you want to use the banking system at all, there's no choice but to use U.S. dollars, because that's the currency of the Fed which is behind the whole thing.
On top of all these laws requiring the U.S. dollar to be used, the United States has a gigantic military that can force people around the world to use dollars (if it came to that) so yes, there's a lot of real-world value behind greenbacks.
Bitcoin? Nada. There's nothing keeping it being a thing. If people lose faith in it, it's over. Bitcoin is fiat currency in the most literal sense of the word.
But it gets worse. Bitcoin is mostly just a speculative vehicle. Yes, there are PR stunts about bars and other shops accepting bitcoins. And there is a Bitcoin ATM for some reason. But mostly Bitcoin is a speculative vehicle. And really, you'd be insane to actually conduct a sizable amount of commerce in bitcoins. That's because the price swings so wildly, that the next day, there's a good chance that one of the parties will have gotten royally screwed. Either the purchaser of the good will have ended up totally blowing a huge opportunity (by not holding longer) or the seller will be totally screwed (if Bitcoin instantly plunges). The very volatility that excited people to want to play the Bitcoin game is death when it comes to real transactions in the real world.
Again, Bitcoin might go up a lot more before it ultimately ends. That's the nature of bubbles. The dotcom bubble crashed a bunch of times on its way up. Then one day it ended. The same will happen with this.
In the meantime, have fun speculating!

Trade mean you buy when the price is down, and sell when the price is high, if you are sure with your prediction with 1000$ you will be able to make at least 8000-10 000. Because bitcoin is volatile and you have many occasion to double up quickly. You just have to buy at the right time and sell at the right time

Trust me, I am a FAN of BitCoin as much as you.
I just hold a different position on it's future.

That "intrinsic value" argument always makes me chuckle. By that argument Mona Lisa painting is a bubble, there is no intrinsic value
behind it.

An interesting piece on Deflation :
Source:http://www.technollama.co.uk/we-need-decentralized-cryptocurrencies-we-just-dont-need-bitcoin

[h=3]Deflation[/h] As explained above, Bitcoin is built with scarcity in mind, that is, the maximum number of Bitcoins that will ever be mined is fixed at 21 million. This entirely arbitrary figure is one of the reasons many BTC advocates equate it with gold and other commodities. The idea is that the scarcity will ensure upward valuation of the currency because there is no central bank that can print more money as the economy requires it. This seems like a good idea if one looks at the economy in very simplistic terms. Inflation is bad because the currency loses value, and therefore people lose acquiring power, so deflation must be good, right? Not really, the problem with deflation is that it encourages hoarding, in which case the currency is not being used as intended, namely to exchange it for goods and services. If everyone kept their money and hid it under the mattress, then the economy would enter into a downward spiral as businesses would have no revenue, so they could not employ people. Moderate inflation is desired in a healthy economy because it encourages investment and spending.
When Bitcoin was experiencing its amazing upward trend, many commentators correctly noted that a rise in the price of Bitcoin meant that it had entered a hyperdeflationary spiral which made it uniquely unsuitable as a currency because there was no reason to spend BTCs if the price would continue to rise. Just look at the early days of Bitcoin, when a poor person spent 10,000 Bitcoins to buy a pizza. In a deflationary economy, this person feels that they lost greatly as valuation goes up, so they would be less willing to part with their currency in the future.
If one wants a stable medium of exchange, then the deflationary element has to go, otherwise what you have is something more akin to stocks or commodities.

[h=1]Wall Street Analyst Explains Why Bitcoin Is Back From The Dead And Surging To All-Time Highs[/h]
Overnight, Bitcoin hit a new all-time high of $270, surpassing the peak price of $266 seen at the height of the Bitcoin mania in April.
"Bitcoin is making a new high this week, breaking through the spiky bubble levels of April in a pretty controlled and orderly manner," writes ConvergEx Group chief market strategist Nick Colas in a note to clients this morning. "What gives?"

I agree with jazzc about

Is the USD worthless if you can't trade it for Chinese Yuan? Is the Yuan worthless for Chinese who can't trade it for USD? What matters is the exchange value for services and goods. That's where the value of currency stems from.

But there are blackhat people at gov/inteligence levels so shit can go left or right about anything depending of how those with more skill push the balance.

About BitCoin, as everybody knows, (love that expression, because it implies there's a truth coming and many dont even bother to think... erm...) the crypto currencies are a conspiracy of the power companies who went and teamed up with GPU manufacturers first and then with cip manufacturers so they bank hard from people who have a bunch of miners running in their basement. Also, they're evil because they knew and planned the heat from the computing will increase the global warming and kills us all.

But happily the earth is flat so when I had enough I will just jump off the edge of it. Earth being round is another conspiracy of the sailors so they can convince people to board their ships because if they knew the truth they'd be afraid to not fall off when the ships reached the edge of the earth.

I really have to go now, I didn't took my pills this morning and now Big Joe and Hard-Hands Moe came with the jacket to take me to the place with nice soft walls. See ya later!

P.S. Santa Claus is also a conspiracy theory. My father is behind it but I don't know the inner workings of it yet.

I think governments will be quick to regulate bitcoins at the point where they get traded for real currency.

For as long as there is a need for real currency, the governments will continue to tax your hard work. If, on the other hand, everyone starts accepting bitcoins, it'd be a revolution. I think governments are shitting their pants about that possibility

[h=1]Bitcoin Comes Under Senate Scrutiny[/h]
Bitcoin is about to get some time in the Capitol Hill spotlight.
A pair of Senate committees will hold hearings on the policy issues raised by virtual currencies in the coming weeks, according to Senate aides, a development that comes amid growing attention from government regulators to digital forms of money.
Bitcoin, a currency that is essentially a computer code and is not backed by any government, has seen its value surge this year because of interest from retailers and investors. But government agencies have also stepped up their oversight of the loosely regulated currency amid fears it could be used to facilitate criminal activity.
The two Senate hearings - the first to focus on bitcoin - are likely to examine how regulators are responding to the new forms of payment, the aides said. Potential points of discussion include how financial-industry regulators will watch over investment in the new currencies and how virtual currencies might impede tax collection or facilitate trade in illegal products out of the sight of law enforcement.
No dates have been set for the hearings and the witness lists are not final, but representatives of the government and private sector are expected to testify. The hearings will be held by the Senate Committee on Homeland Security and Government Affairs and by a subpart of the Senate Banking Committee, the aides said.
By summoning officials from the executive branch to talk about bitcoin, lawmakers are signaling that virtual currencies should be a priority. Sens. Tom Carper (D., Del.) and Tom Coburn (R., Okla.), the top lawmakers on the Homeland Security panel, have also asked several financial-industry regulators and law-enforcement agencies for information about their policies on virtual currencies.
In an Aug. 12 letter, the senators cited a number of policy concerns, including a Texas case this year in which a man was charged with running a bitcoin-related Ponzi scheme and a May Government Accountability Office report that said the use of virtual currencies could lead to lost tax revenue.
"As with all emerging technologies, the federal government must make sure that potential threats and risks are dealt with swiftly; however, we must also ensure that rash or uninformed actions don't stifle a potentially valuable technology," Messrs. Carper and Coburn wrote in their letter, which went to the Department of Homeland Security, the Federal Reserve, the Securities and Exchange Commission, the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, the Department of Justice and the Treasury Department.

Once quantum computing is developed. Bitcoin will fall instantly.
Quantum computing is light years ahead of what we have now. All bitcoins will can be mined in mere seconds.

You don't know shit about bitcoins. Lets pretend you have a quantum computer and start mining bitcoin at very fast pace once a certain number of blocks has been mined bitcoin will automatically adjust its difficulty to level your speed. The same number of bitcoins will be mined each day even if you have the fastest miner.

Even if sha256 algo is broken (the currect bitcoin algo) and became easily crackable the bitcoin developers can easily released a new update using a new uncrackable algo let's say sha1 million in a matter of hours or even minutes. Bitcoin is designed to be able to easily change to a new algo if needed.

I don't think it's going to be a bubble.. There are corporations who have invested millions in buying up crypto currency and with ATM's and debit cards coming out it's also a good sign and Paypal are also keeping a close eye on using this...
