How do I beat my competitors? They are using 301 redirect (no backlinks)

Do you really think blasting his site with backlinks will make him disappear? OP, if you take the idiotic route, that is kasher9 advice, then you'll just be wasting your time, he has built 3 new domains, all ranking in the top spot, don't you think he will just build some more after you blast him?

If he's redirecting 301 domains to new domains to rank, why can't you do the same? Look at the old domains profile he's using and buy domains that are even better than his to 301 to your site. The quickest way to increase your sites authority is by using 301, so take that route.

Op, try and purchase some domains of yourself and 301 them. They can be found on different places around forums, if you have the money, if not my first option still stands.

I already play a bit on those 301 redirects tactics. I had a blog which was gettings daily 11k+ visitors but oneday my most ranked and popular page vanished from google. Directly deindexed the page from google. After this the site slapped by google penguin update. atlast I gave up recovering it and tried the 301 redirects on my new blog. Notice: the new blog is hosted on blogger platform and also blogger free domain. I wanted to see the result without wasting money. It might be helpful if you take a look on the result I got:

Not Worked:

1. KW 1 Local search volume 15k (the post was deindexed by google) Backlinks: over 540+ on that page. I published a new post on my new blog. The keyword was same as the deleted post has. Result: Within 1 day I HIT the topspot but next day it dropped. Then I canceled the redirection and built various backlinks. After 1 week later the exact keyword ranked number 1 position and still generating more visitors.

Still Working:

This specific page was also ranked well for his keyword but dropped ranking during google update.But it was not got deindexed by google. I also 301 redirect it to same kw post page. Result: The redirect still now exists for last 2 months and I am still ranked for this page.

Still a lot to know about proper redirection method and I think it will work for long term if we can properly manage this.

If you read my post and the OP's, he has built 3 new domains, each site has 1-2 domains, moral values aside, why the heck would you bother spamming him when he can easily build more domains? There is also the possibility of him redirecting all his domains to his top 10 competitors.

Building negative backlinks to a site that is 301'd. Of course, nothing could every go wrong with this like the guy monitoring the SERPS for new backlinks to his 301 and then changing the redirect to one of his competitors. Nobody is that clever and nobody has built the scripts to monitor for such things.

If the competition plays dirty then yes, i will play dirty also, and i highly doubt that someone is going to take on all the sites in the top 10 serps to do NEG SEO on, 99% of the time they will think they screwed up somehow and give up.
