How to remove negative SEO?

I have a lot of bad SEO links done by XRUMER, and I want to somehow remove them and get my website to normal state.

It's a forum and there are some spammers with XRUMER (which are now gone -- I managed to stop them with a verification on registration (captcha / email existed before and they were able to bypass it)), they register, make a profile, add signature / some posts and then build backlinks to that profile.

Any suggestions?

But there is no solution to the negseo problem until Google gets back to reality and starts allowing the link market to regulate itself.

Sounds like friedman talking about free market economics, which didn't happened

But OP try to find all of them and use the google disvow tool or use the service of someone, yes you will pay but in the same time you are losing some right now so...

IMHO removing the "bad links" is like fighting the wind mills. Tomorrow Google will change the algo again and your work will prove to be pointless.

Instead get some new quality links to your forum.

Currently, this guy built 2.5k backlinks to his spam profile with XRUMER. Which is quite a lot imo and hurts the rank already a lot.

Not sure what you are talking about. You mean the backlink list? Use ahrefs / GWT or some other services for that. Go to https://www.google.com/webmasters/tools/disavow-links-main, and upload the list.

Thanks a lot, I currently am using MajesticSEO, it has pretty good tools and it's FREE to use
I save the list off there then upload on Webmasters. One question, how long it usually takes before links are removed?

If you are going to disavow then only work off the list that google has indexed and is in your webmaster tools. No point looking at what ahrefs or majestic have to say.

I am, but what's wrong with removing the bad links meanwhile? Is there anything wrong with that?

Also, if I may ask, how long does it usually take Google to remove the disavowed URLs?

Unfortunately mate having a forum like you do is a recipe for spam links as you are noticing. The best advice is to lock down your forum as much as possible to deter people from spamming your forum. Don't allow links in signature or on members pages. Add additional levels of security for sign up to deter xrumer.

Then you work on link removals as suggested. Disavow will work after you can show Google link removals but dont be disavowing before.

But mate, lock down that forum and get rid of all of these spam members.

I'm curious, I see a ton of users suddenly jumping on the disavow tool, I'd be interested to hear from users who do NOT use gwt, if the same old tactics still work. I wouldn't go near GWT personally, plenty alternatives out there to lower your exposure to G. If you have several sites in one account, expect them to suffer a similar fate regardless of their backlinks.

Yep, playing into the hands of Google (be it disavow tool or GWT) is against everything Black Hat represents.

Not ideologically, no, but as an idea. If you want to succeed where others fail, you must be different. I wouldnt touch the disavow tool even if one of my sites was deep down the SERPs. I would rather start a new project and attempt to create an arbitrage, such that when one site is penalized others would start to get traffic, and vise versa.

To each their own. I prefer the same thing you do, but ultimately like you said this is giving Big G what they want. If tons of people get links from the services offered here on BHW and then disavow those links, they provide the information Google needs to just start tearing these networks apart without too much digging effort. Private networks that are not promoted anywhere are the way to go. It's just finding them that can be tricky.

I think it would be a courtesy on the part of people who buy these links to at least ask the people offering the services to take them down rather than disavowing them.
