Listen up people, apparently a lot of you aren't reading the rules so I am going to make this more clear for you.

It is against the rules to post freebies threads that are contests or sweepstakes or to ask for anything in return.

What does that mean?

  • No picking people at random - it should be first come first serve.
  • No picking people based on what they post.
  • No quid pro quo - you cannot ask for something in return like reviews, thanks, or anything else.

You can put requirements on who is allowed to receive it, for example:

- JrVips only
- 10+ posts
- 100+ reputation
- etc.

I would recommend reviewing the rules for the forum so you're clear about what is and what isn't allowed.

Thank you,
-Jericho-

UPDATE:

If I see "I will choose a winner..." or any variation of that your thread will be deleted.

NO CONTEST OR SWEEPSTAKES PERIOD!

There's legal reasons for this.

So we can still do giveaways without approval right?

So I want to do a logo contest for this non-profit I am volunteering for. How would i go about doing this? Ty in advane

I think this needs a well deserved bump, as many of us have been missing the finer points in requirements of freebies.

Thanks for this update! Good to see no more threads asking & begging for rep and thanks in return of their giveaway. I really like this new rule "No picking people at random - it should be first come first serve." :)

I want to create a contest thread, though, the only rule is that the user of post #x will be the winner.

Who should I talk to first to "approve" the contest?

can i put , P.S : Please leave a review once you receive the service. at the end of my giveaway?
