Ebay And Paypal Scam Help

Tough luck. This really stinks when there are people out there that take advantage of you like this. What did the police say when you contacted them? Have they gotten back to you yet on this?

You should never allow the buyer to collect the item if he paid by PayPal - you can't prove that you have given him the item.
If the buyer comes to collect, it always has to be cash he pays with - no PayPal or anything like that. If it's PayPal, then you ship the item to them and get a proof of shipping - no collection.

JAMIEB- the police have not gotten back too me, its been around a few months. (to be honest i dont think i will ever hear from them)

RMX - i know, i learnt that the hard way. I can only wish i read that sooner.

now i can only ask, what would be the best possible way to deal with this.

Yeah, bad luck I guess....
I had the same prob but I sold games and got run over on 1k$ :/

He paid using paypal right? dont you have his addy on that? do you think thats fake too?

Its easy to find anyone these days - you should do a little black hat project on him to teach him a life lesson matey...

Hi, ebay claims that the buyers account was compromised.

however, in my personal opinion i find it difficult how the buyers email, ebay, paypal and card details all were compromised without rasing any form of doubts. (duly because; the buyer had bought items of a similar nature dating back more than 2 weeks.)

additionally, the address details which were used on paypal and the ebay account appear to be false. i.e the first line of address and the postcode are almost 5 miles apart.

i have attempted to ask paypal on this matter, who cannot seem to provide me with a straight forward answer as to why the account was confirmed with a false address. Additionally i know i am not the only one who has been stung with this matter. As i almost certain the feedback which was later removed are all buyers who have also been affected by the same scam.

however, i dont want to take matters in my own accord, provided that the users account was truly compromised. But i feel the lack of support from paypal and ebay on this matter, has taught me their policies are flawed and bull****.

i am left thinking if i don't pay up i may be locked from using paypal again. I dont want this to be the case. Since most companies and users only deal with Paypal.

I just hope something comes out of this dispute beetween paypal and the credit card company.

PS: after taking a tour on the site, i have realized that it is possible to create another paypal account, separate to my old account. whilst my ongoing matter is sorted it would be useful to have another paypal account which i can use to pay for services/goods online if someone could direct me in the right direction on how this can be done, it would be grateful.

Globe12, sorry to hear that you were scammed right out of the gate. These guy's that do this only hurt the industry since
new comers are screwed out of their hard earned money that they were going to invest. Sad truth is that since you delivered over
the item without tracking confirmation there is not much that can be done at this point. Further more PayPal cannot do much since
the credit card company a long with the bank has the real authority in this situation.

Once you recover from this here are some good tips for successful selling.

1. Always take a picture of the mailing receipt.
2. Always deliver using the option of signed delivery confirmation.

See if they sign for it then it means they accepted it and nothing they can do at this point. You just learned a hard lesson and need
to recover from it and next time you will know how to handle these thieves.

Best of luck to you!

Only eBay, PayPal and the police can help you...

Hard luck.

I can't understand how you feel, you needed money and instead of getting that money your account was over drawn and now you can't use it to even make the little living.

Use all the arsenal in your power to fight it otherwise you will be blamed like it's all turning out..

Unfortunately I have never seen a situation where the police was much help. Most of the time the case is reported but never
acted upon. Sad but true.

many thanks for your feedback guys.

i think all i can do at the moment is to wait and see what the outcome will be beetween paypal and the credit card company.

Although i will not give in this easily until the matter is thoroughly investigated by ebay and paypal.
