Google update just now? 10/4?

My top site which is in alexa 20k for US has vanished for every single keyword and longtail that I have ever ranked for. Hundreds of page one phrases, my site is nowhere to be found for any searches. besides "site.com" I have seens people talking about losing some main keywords and such, but has anyone else witnessed total vanishing? This blows, my site went from hundreds of uniques per day down to 27 today!!! After looking in analytics, the 10 phrases that those 27 people found my site through are now also gone. My traffic has ceased, besides a couple from bing, yahoo and facebook. Did anyone else get totally 100% nuked? Not sure if I will pull all my content and put it into a book, or buy a new domain and spam the shit out of it just to make google pay.

What do you mean so many tests? I am just reporting back what i can see in my SERP movements. Do you not track SERPS for your sites?

As others have said I'm not panicking so much. I just wanted to feed my experiences so far. I'm going to wait it out. It may turn out for the better or for worse

My new site just dropped bad, but I wanted to let everyone know that I didn't have any backlinks on this website, just started SEO it with social media and it dropped today 258 spots on 1 kw, the other 2 kws went up 1 spot today but still not on the top 10 page.

It's likely that Google is giving further handicap apart from the honeymoon period to seek out further foot prints from opportunistic black hatters.

yep i am showing up nowhere for keywords previously ranking in top 5. I just recovered from the last update. I have used no spammy backlinks or anything

The thing is the sites sitting on page 1 for search terms are pretty thin and not high quality at all, or EMDs.

I'm not so pissed about my non important sites that have been affected. But I am absolutely pissed that my one and only hobby site with real fans has been affected. Thankfully I have never relied on google to bring my traffic as mine comes from my social media profiles - but it's a shame i can't take my site and my passion to the next level.

This is exactly how I feel. I have 20 blogs/websites and only one that I am passionate about posting on. Hundreds of unique pages and posts, all accompanied by youtube videos "made by me" to really make each post a masterpiece, suddenly my baby has crashed. I don't have nearly the facebook and twitter fans that you have, but I do have thousands of real fans. I am not sure what caused my tankage, but it is bad..

Chart1 was at #2 for a while. Dropped to #50+. Came back today, #1.
Chart2 was at #100+. Dropped further down. Today, came back at #1.

I'm sure it'll drop down again over the course of the update - but hopefully some of you can look at this and understand that waiting - and not acting - can be a good thing. :]

Sorry to be blowing up this post, I just noticed my traffic is recovering slightly. I went from non existent, to page 3-4 for most of my longtail's that I was originally page #1. There is hope, I really want to keep climbing. It would be best for google's sake, because I am on the verge of going full blackhat!

Well i was hit due to Google Adwords policy update last week. All of my 3 accounts which have been running from last 1 year have been permanently suspended without any prior notice and when i contact them about this, they said it's a policy change. This is what they even mailed to me:-
Having thoroughly reviewed your account again, our specialists have confirmed that we're unable to unsuspend your account. At this time, no amount of changes to your ads/sites/account can be recommended, as the decision to suspend your account is final.

I didn't get hit but I lost 2 long tail keywords that I had #2 ranking for the last 6 months or so. Both keywords dropped to pages 5 & 6. My main keywords are doing well as usual but those 2 keywords bring me an extra $500-$1000/month, so I'd definitely like them to pop back up.

Either way I'll wait through the week and see what happens. But something definitely seems to be going on.

Welcome to the affiliate world of 2009. Google started mass banning all PPC accounts running affiliate ads. This has nothing to do with the Penguin 2.1 update which this thread is supposed to be about though, so I would suggest talking about this elsewhere.
