Google check Payday loans niche manually regularly and settled on 10 sites which haven't moved from the top 10 in a long time. Every attempt to reach page 1 by a 301 technique or other technique has been removed. However, since last night, we see sites using these techniques and ranking. So therefore it is a Google fuckup which has somehow stopped the sites they manually reviewed, from ranking and now the sites they don't want to rank are now in the top 10. This is not a result of the technique, this is a result of Google. The logic fits in perfectly with this.
Tumblr blogs ranked on the first page because Google allows it to, they were not able to last night EVEN THOUGH they were using the same technique. I know this because I use tumblr blogs too. I believe we should talk about this in a public forum as it points out Google's ridiculous update.

Still confirms the theory that new websites are Penguin 2.1 safe. I see a couple maybe more sites ranking for payday terms, one of them is about a week old.

Gorang, my old mucker, the sites are only shit if people are not clicking through and then they are not providing what people expect. I think I am safely correct when I say that the vast majority of people searching for "payday loans" will be happy with sites that let them apply for a payday loan. They're most certainly not looking for information about what a payday loan is or recent legislation or campaigning about them.
The only people complaining about the results in these SERPS are those idiots who don't realise that it is not a good thing that big brands rank for everything or they are jealous about the sums of money being earned by these sites.

Oh well , it didn't last long back to the fixed set of results. This niche is aimed at driving up adwords without a doubt, fun while it lasted.

Simple, the update uses old data and has probably been rolling out for a week or so before they do the big update which usually gets announced then they tweak it for a few days..

Well it's true until proven otherwise. The dust hasn't settled yeah but spamming websites ranking for payday loans keywords is nothing new, matter of fact during the previous week, there was some other websites who ranked for some of these keywords but now they're gone, and newer sites replaced them. So yeah.

Personally I think it's some kind of glitch, nothing more, nothing less. From what I can see on the surface the techniques he's using aren't different to anything that was going on before the dreaded 'payday loan' updates in June. Bunch of old aged domains with 301's and spam thrown in. Of course we will never see the full picture as most payday loan spammers block majestic/ahrefs spiders from crawling their 301 satellite sites. In my opinion the algorithm is just displaying its usual randomness after a big update, somehow this site has just the right amount juice to give the algorithm an erection and make it rank.
As Gorang already mentioned, no other niche is manually monitored as much as the payday loan niche. In the grand scale of the 'war' between churn and burn rankers and matt cutts, payday loans has become the biggest and most important battlefield so to speak. I'm sure everyone that is serious about churn and burn tactics has been keeping a steady eye on this niche over the past few months and has seen literally nothing rank... NOTHING. It will be dealt with swiftly and banned into oblivion. The only reason it's still there is probably because they are now tinkering with the algo as we speak to try and penalize it algorithmically instead of manually, if that doesn't work it will get the manual ban-hammer.
Also, even though no churn and burn methods seem to work any more, there have still been thousands of people trying to rank payday loans the last few months. All have seemed to fail and there is no reason to believe that there is a new super-secret spamming/301 method.
Conclusion : temporary glitch - back to the drawing board

That sure is true. Every time I rank for the word jewelry for my store, I get a manual review and the rank disappears. Google does not screw up when it comes to top ranking keywords.

I can do the same thing with crorkservice fiverr gigs. I can rank the word jewelry with his gigs. There is more than one technique to rank. But as lakimo said, the manual review will come and the ranking will disappear.
