Pinterest Discussion Thread <<<<<<<Lets Branstorm

My first real day on Pinterest was yesterday.

I set up a blog with adsense, pinned three pins to 40+ boards (not telling the niche). None of the boards have a huge following, 1-20k each.

I made $18.50. Not incredible, but not bad for day 1 with little effort.

Also, does anyone know of a bot that lets me quickly pin one pin to many boards? For example, if I have 50 "DIY" boards and I want to pin one pin to all of them, can I either group boards as "DIY" and say "Go?"

Was testing different platforms for monetization, and hadn't plugged in analytics in the beginning, but 369 pageviews.

not bad. Would be interesting if you'll have those numbers tomorrow without doing anything...I mean, for some time..
 
I haven't pinned anything today just to test stuff out. I'm at $5.71 so far. I will probably get to $10 or so.

pinterest is all about residual traffic, it really is a beautiful thing.
so it sounds like you are on the right track. :)
be sure to promote multiple sites, don't put all your eggs in one basket, a cliche BHW phrase but it's true.
and also try to gain followers across multiple accounts, spread it out a bit.
 
i noticed the pins i repinned are getting repinned, but not my original pins. should i add my links to the repins?

I'm impressed that you brought that much in with Adsense in your first real day. I've been playing around with Pinterest for the past few weeks, and so far I've made about $3.00 with Adsense with around 1,000 UV's. It sounds like your pages are converting quite a bit better than mine.

I don't own any bots and am only working with one account at the moment, but it sounds like I need to get into more group boards, the one I'm in with 4k+ followers has helped me build up my traffic quite a bit.

How are most of you approaching followers? Do you just let the number of people you are following build up into the thousands, or do you mass-unfollow after you get up pretty high? It seems like it would look spammy following thousands of people and only a few hundred in return. So far I've followed about 500 people and have 25 followers in return, is this a normal response because it seems a little low to me.

All in all this is my first real IM effort that I plan to stick with, and I'm excited seeing my numbers grow daily even if they are at a much slower rate than most of yours.

It take time on pinterest for ppl to follow you back. If you have 2000+ pins then follow rate will eventually increase, so before mass following first build 4-5 boards with atleast 100+pins.
 
what programs do you guys use? i'm tired of pin pioneer working half ass

If you want a long term solution then just go for a custom bot, all public bots for pinterest sucks in some ways.
Go for a socket based bot.

That is a manual step :) as you have to choose clean and active group boards. If your profile looks good then its not hard to get into any group board.
 
So ninjapinner lets me pin a ton of pins to one board easily, but I need the reverse.

I need something that can take one pin and repin it to my 40+ collaborative boards (that I choose per pin); the manual repinning is killing me. Huge bonus points if it works on a mac.

Ideas?
