Can anyone kindly let me know how much would another website which is hosted on the same shared server as mine can affect mine. I mean if there is a porn website, on teh same IP as mine would it have any negative effct on my website.

Also can an adult dating network site can have a negative affect Is an adult dating considered the same as a porn site

A website in a regular niche (not adult or dating) but which has been penalized by google can have negative consequences on other websites located on same shared hosting

Thank you in advance for whoever would choose to reply

Should not affect your site directly, but shared servers are slower because your resource is being shared with other users. If your server, for example also hosts a porn site then it is likely to receive traffic which would affect your site's performance. If you have huge traffic, then you might notice little drops several times a day, which indicates timeouts. Google, or any search engine for that matter, doesn't like slow sites and sites which get timed-out when the crawler visits.

That's the way it would affect.

Some people are just asses. Generally, we do not bump our threads here, especially after only one day.. You didn't even wait one day.

op, be happy. +rep from me.

and your question: nothing happens.

Well, sometimes it can affect your site to some extent.

If you're hosted on a server that hosts spammy sites with scams, porn, etc. that means you're in a bad IP neighbourhood.

Also these kinds of server are often targets of hacking, probing, ddosing, spamming and other nasty things that can impact not only speed but security of your website too.
If these servers find themselves on a blacklist you might be having problems with e-mail, website itself and sometimes your position in SERPs.

Just something to think about.

In anycase, I wouldn't feel comfortable to be hosted on the same server as very questionable websites, anything could happen, bans, authorities, shutdowns, drainage of server resources, blacklisting, bad business practice, and so on.

You are talking about things that you cannot control. You are making assumptions. I am repeating again. Nothing will happen.

Guys seriously, do not worry about these. Server does not matter when it comes to seo. It does matter in email marketing, but not seo .. period
