I'm sure this is obvious but...you say it's much better to have control over your tier 1 links. Why is this? Is it so if you're site gets penalized, you can just remove the links pointing to them?

Just a quick one before I dedicate a month of my life to the techniques in the video. Is anyone experiencing long term success with this method? Sorry if it's a stupid question, I just come across someone being cynical about how it will only work a couple of months on the youtube comments and that the method is dated so wanted to make sure before I start ripping my hair out with this intense learning curve!

I like the video but if I may say is nothing overly ground breaking. Then again I do have a bit more of experience in seo than a beginner so, overall great video and I really wish you could make a more advance video commentary

Actually Matt Cutts is pretty nice-

But tiered link building takes advantage of the fundamental way in which Google spiders and structures the web. For it to stop working they would have to make big changes.

The only changes I anticipate is just upping the level of quality on each tier in the future.
