is having your own private blog network really this expensive?

What do you guys mean by private network? I imagine you can still use web2.0 platforms like wordpress for the websites in your network. So what makes it private?
Actualy what is a private network?

Its a network of blogs that you set up where you post for seo purposes to back you money site with links and traffic.
To the op:if you set up 100 sites correctly, they should be making some revenue. If only they make $1/site/month you are running the network at no cost.

You can't buy each one for $10... Try $20-150+ depending on the PR.

I have probably $10,000+ invested in my networks... It's not cheap but definitely effective

You want a network that does anything? Expect to pay for it.

Thats why I use private networks providers that are legit and dont have my own. I'd rather leave it to a pro and diversify that investment somewhere else and let the network owners hold the risk.

i will soon make a course about creating the network but for now u can have a look at fightback network then have even full PR3+ networks there.

i get this, but what is the difference between a private and a normal network? Is it the hosting? If so, please explain, if you want, why is hosting on a vps better than hosting on regular hosts like hostgator.
thanks

Im not sure by what you mean by a private or normal network.
But in the context of what is being talked about in this thread, people are talking about 'owning their own' private network of websites.

The real key to a good private blog network will be having a large scope of C-class ip's/nameservers that it will remain undetectable to the Big G.

Buying 100 hostgator accounts is probably not going to do the trick. But a VPS with separate c-class ip's /ns could be what you are after.

My recommendation is that unless you know what you are doing its probably a good idea to steer away from it. You need to have some technical knowledge to keep it running (and more importantly not to screw it up).

Then wouldn't it be cheaper to just use someone else's already hosted domains in the same niche, for less money? I know dumb question.

Domain of $10 is of no value, i can scream this till the roof of my apartment goes off.

With this kind of strategy, it's going to be a wild goose chase.

Just to ask, why blog network?
Why not private network?

Private network is more powerful, less expensive, more secured and much more.

What's the PR of the $10 domain, n/a or PR0 i guess then worthless.

Instead buy PR4+ authentic domains and convert to private networks.

You really don't need that much to get on top 5, with a budget of $1,800 to $3000 a year per site you are done..

If you think that's the case, then you are greatly limiting yourself. Looking at PR is pretty much the "lazy way" of determining the strength of a domain. PR is useful only if you plan on selling links because that's what buyer's (your typical SEO/IMer - mainstream crowd) looks for. If it's for a private network that you're not planning to sell links with, there are much more important stats to look at than PR.

To say that PR N/A and 0 domains are worthless is simply untrue, especially since google hasn't updated PR in over 6 months (toolbar PR, not their internal PR which is calculated constantly). Anyone who can read between the lines here can really take advantage of what I'm saying in this post.

You can if you know the right person. I have a broker that finds me authentic PR3-4 domains and charges roughly $10 and less if I buy them in bulk. He's a software developer who was unsatisfied with the current tools available for finding PR domains so he created his own. He doesn't share his method or sell the tool.

hi guys
I dont understand what is meant by different class C ips and VPS. I know VPS is virtual private server, but what does that have to do with hosting the domains? And what's class c ip?

If I was going this route, I would just buy hosting from 100 different hosts, like hostgator, fatcow, 000webhost, etc etc
Doesn't that look natural? I mean if these sites were owned by 100 different people, some of them would have hostgator, some of them would have 000webhost....there is no footprint here, it looks natural.
now what is class c ip and why is it beneficial?

Its not how much it costs
Its how much it makes you

You can easily get SEO hosting with different Class C IPs and mix in a few other hosting services for less.

Also, why not mix in a few free platforms like 20 High Quality Web 2.0s?

An IP consist of 4 parts AAA.BBB.CCC.xxx - the first part is called A-class, the second part B-class and the third part C-class. So any IP under the last part will be in the same C-class. So for example:

123.123.123.1 and 123.123.123.2 are in the same C-class but
123.123.123.1 and 123.123.124.1 is in two different C-classes

Many smaller hosts only mange one single or very few C-classes and therefore makes it difficult to get multiple IPs in different C-classes if you host all your sites the same place.

Web2.0's can easily get banned anytime so I don't really think it's a good idea to use them.

As of my experience for domain that is PA/DA >30, PR >2 and Age >1 you need around 10$-30$ I wouldn't spend more then that on domain and with this price I could easily get few PR5 and PR4 domains too.

About the hosting, c-class IP hosting shouldn't cost you more then 1$ per domain so yeah the cost is around 45$ per year per blog in private network.

But the main thing is, let's say you built a network of 25 blogs that is 1125$ per year, you can keep posting links to those blogs until OBL reaches like 30 or so, so that is 30*25=750 posts, now look at the bst section, on average cost of a post in private blog network is 12$ I think so for 750 post you'd get 9000$, content can be generated or you could go with cheap writers who write posts for 2.5$ or something.

But, the better would be to use this network for your sites, you now got ability to create 25 top-notch quality backlink for your 30 sites, so why not rank them and earn money from your sites? you can post 750 high pr, high da, permanent links for 1125$ you can't ask for more :)

I mean that you shouldn't consider private blog network is built for one particular website only, you build it for bunch of your websites, and well, if you don't make 1125$ back from 30 ranked websites then IM definately isn't the thing you should be doing for life :)

How about $2 / month per site for hosting? Then you're looking at $200 / month for hosting. And with domains, that's no more than $300 / month.

If you can't make that back with the network then you have no business owning one imo.

I wouldnt trust $2 hosting sorry, been there done that. Most of the time iv noticed my sites have been down with these cheap hosts. Or customer support isnt there. Its always something. I need my sites to be up and $2 hosting just doesnt cut it.

Who told you that you need 100+ sites??? Actually, that will only penalize your site!
You can do much much better with 15-20 sites private network, in combination with other backlinking methods.

Only some pesky sellers on this site has networks of 100+ sites, so they can sell crappy posts there for 100+/blast, you buy, you get little to no benefit, and later you get penalized...
Small private network in combination with other methods is a way to go!

:O
$10 can get you any pr domain. U just need to know to find them. I have bought 10+ PR6 domains and they were solid ones.

As some one who has scoured over millions of domains over the past few years I can say with certainty there are not many real PR6, non 301'd, non faked, real backlinks, etc that are dropped. Can you share an example of one you've recently picked up?

To get a Solid non Dropped PR3+ domains with DA over 25 and Referring Domains over 50, each domain cost atleast $75, but the problem is it is very hard to find those quality domains nowadays as there is a huge competition. In namejet a decent PR4 domain with DA30 goes for $100, So it is better to buy 15 -20 real quality domains to start a private Network, after you have earned some money you can increase your domain count gradually.

Creating a blog network is really cheap(low budget) I may help you theseodude
