Im sorry if this has been discussed before but i just wanted a fresh intake on all views.
Blackhat:
1 Deeply blackhat - phising scams - criminal acts - hacking etc
2 fraudulent clicks - getting ppl to click things for downloads for which we dont own copyright
3 pirating software via torrents or fiverr gigs to sell or just to own (watch the next tv program or download box sets) etc
4 making backlinks via blog comments, article directories etc to boost our website you all know this method.
to whitehat and greyhat.. e.g. guest blog comments, sharing links with mutual sites etc
I guess what i am asking is this.
GG says we should do this and that etc, play ball with them, so if we dont we arent exactly breaking any laws by building back links on our
own terms, but is it immoraly wrong?
Would we go into an Apple store and steal or Macys store etc and say that because they are a coporate giant that its ok?
Is going against GG/ matt cutts terms to provide links that may well feed your family similar to going into a large department store and
stealing?
If someone builds a seo empire getting businness from other site owners by building links to gain them good serps illegal or immoral?
What if the same global websites use baclklinks via blog comments etc to boost their serps then is it ok to copy them ( i have seen this before).
Even seo by definition in GG eyes is wrong - are we taking something via fraud (backlinks to gain serps) that we shouldnt?
Going into big department stores and stealing is common place in my city and lots and lots of other cities across the globe - but are we by
defrauding google by making artificial backlinks to boost our sites any better than the common thief?
I have no presuppitions about anyone and all comments are welcomed.
Thanks.
EDIT SRY MODS I THINK THIS MAYBE BELONG TO THE LOUNGE? I TRIED TO CHANGE BUT COULDNT IF SO PLS MOVE THANKS
