Someone stole content from my ebook

Hi,

Last year I launch 2 ebooks in a health & fitness niche, and yesterday I found a blog with all the content from my ebooks...

The Blog has adsense, and 90% of the content is completely copy/paste from my ebooks.

Is there any legal action that I can take? Can you help me and give me some advice?

You can report them to adsense with proof its yours and start by taking their money away.

You could take action as long as you've included a copyright notice in the material. You may want to submit the official copyright documents to the Library of Congress though to further protect you in the future. You could also issue a DMCA takedown request and threaten legal action against them but to actually pursue them in court can be very time consuming and expensive. Are you making enough from the ebook that legal actions are justified? If not a takedown request and filing for an ISBN and copyright papers with LOC would probably be the best action to take.

Yes, I agree that legal actions can be very time and money consuming. A take down request is probably the first step you should take. You can get Google involved if you have the enough proof that the content is really yours. Best of luck!

Ouch.. that is very disappointing. I agree that legal actions can be very time (and money) consuming but if you truly believe in your work(s) go ahead and start by reporting to Google all that.

Unless it's trademarked or copyrighted correctly, unfortunately there's little action that you can take. You could request royalty payment for your work, or contact the owner of the blog but that aside I'm not sure depending on your country.

I think it depends on where you have it published and what proof you have. But, I would definitely contact Adsense first and foremost.

Get over it and move on unless you've got a huge fund for legal fees and unlimited time.
You might get adsense to remove their ads, "MeeeeoW!" or you could focus on making more
money and kicking yourself for not thinking of it first.

Send a cease and desist letter to the webmaster if they have a contact address. If not then contact the guys hosting and file a DMCA request, most hosts will have a way for you to submit DMCA's.

What's wrong with these replies?

Defending copyright is not expensive after DMCA law, you don't need an attorney, and you have copyright just from the fact that you wrote it (putting Copyright year name in the work is more than enough).

Defend your copyright! Report it to Google Adsense through the web form. Report it to Google Search. Report it to their hosting provider.

These steps will take only a few hours, mostly because you're new to this.

I do understand not taking action on every little infraction, but if they're trying to profit from your content, go ahead, take 'em out!

My friend has a similar situation. I am very courious of what happened next and where you able to get some money that was made on Adsence thanks to your content. A follow up would be nice.

I also experience that and sad to say, I cannot do something about it.
Hard to protect articles or ideas that we posted on the net unless we take effort that it will be copyrighted and will pursue on filing cases against those people.
Yes, least you can do is report it to Google or adsense so that he/she will not earn anymore with your work on such blog.

You can get their AdSense banned and maybe get their blog taken down as well if their host respects DMCA takedown notices (most do!).

Internet is the source where copy paste is the game here. If your content has copy right licence then you can legally claim it.
