Someone stole content from my ebook

I'll admit, I'm no expert, but one member mentioned requesting royalty payment, and I agree with them. If someone steals my content, maybe first you could try to further monetize the situation. See if you can get a profit from it. Contact the site owner and make an offer; they keep your content, but they have to pay you $x/month, or x%/month.

It's worth a shot, and at least you could get some $$$ from it.

Stop whining OP.
If you copyrighted your ebook, go for legal action, if not, stop whining and get over it :D:D

Definitely contact Adsense they have very strict policy in fraudulent / stealing content etc...
Tips:
1) Next time make sure where you uploading your ebook
2) Try to use some kind of security measures such as define Permission Rule (check this option if you creating your ebook in PDF)
3) Try to use some kind of Digital Security so nobody can steal anything without your permission.
4) Lastly the best option can be just put a Security Password so no body can open it untill the user has the required password.

Talk to a lawyer if it is a big earner for you...followed by a cease and desist....

Unless it's copyrighted and you've got proof that you own it, there's really nothing much you can do. Sucks to be a good writer sometimes :D

Hi,

Last year I launch 2 ebooks in a health & fitness niche, and yesterday I found a blog with all the content from my ebooks...

The Blog has adsense, and 90% of the content is completely copy/paste from my ebooks.

Is there any legal action that I can take? Can you help me and give me some advice?

thanks

Cat

Where were these two items published? On a site of your own? Just because you wrote it, doesn't mean you have ground copyright on it, doesn't matter what you put in the file either. It all depends on where you posted it first, whenever that is, they have ground copyright. Click bomb em i'd say? That'd be your best bet.

Yes, I agree that legal actions can be very time and money consuming. A take down request is probably the first step you should take. You can get Google involved if you have the enough proof that the content is really yours. Best of luck!
First off I want to say that I feel your pain. I know that legal action like this can be expensive and the person who stole it probably knows this. I would say to first gather all the materials you will need to prove you did the work and then notify google of this. I am sure that if you have the proof then google will work with you in this matter and make the stealer take down the content and hopefully ban or delist their site.

I remember that some time back Ass0ciat3d Content writers would gang up and click bomb the adsense ads on the content stealer's website. I must admit that they were quite effective in dealing with such stealers. ;)

After the adsense account is lost will be the time to pull down the site forever thru C&D and also asking the web host to put that site in his shredder.

I would do anything possible to their site such as click bombing, neg seo, etc

but would agree, reporting to google is the most effective

I wonder what happened as a result of this. It is a horrible feeling when you put all of your time and effort into something only to find out someone else stole it form you. I would do a DMCA request or report them to AdSense if possible. However, you have probably taken action by now or just let it go since it was a few months ago.

Once is on the internet it belongs to public knowladge, nothing you can do about it afterwards
next time protect your PDFs with CantCopy plugins, i 've seen those around, they are not free i guess

Honestly, nothing can be done about the content..contacting Google and all takes so much of time and no matter how hard you try the owner of the blog will never respond. So if you have patience, you can try your luck with the copyright thing else move ahead.

Some people download other people's eBooks and just post them on their own website. Not 90% more like 100% copy lol
Its no big deal dont let it distract you from making money! If you made big money off of this, good if you didnt, let it go, imo.

Report it to Adsense and is Host. That will make Adsense to Banned is account and is Blog will be shut down by the Host.

Tell them this!

Good Day Webmaster,

I recently became aware of your website page domain.com/page.html. The content is very similar to our copyrighted ebook released 2 years ago. Since this is copyrighted I have a legal advantage on taking down your website. I will be pursuing further actions if you do not wish to re arrange or remove my content on your website in a reasonable amount of time of 2 days.

I will speak to a copyright lawyer and we will proceed from there. Feel free to call me at anytime in regards to this matter at 122-654-6632 or reply with this email.

Thank you

This is just me and not sure what I would actually do in the end.

However, if he isn't actually hurting your ebook sales `

report it to adsense........if the blog is hosted in blogger.....you can take it down.........

Get all of the proof that you can and report them. This will stop their bankroll and start an investigation to ensure that you will get paid for the content.

its nothing new. people will just rewrite your article or idea. you can find alot of freelancers doing this kind of editing jobs. furthermore everything offered online may be displayed in another way but if you see it through, the concept is the same..

Tell adsense they took content from your ebooks and get your money back.
I'm sure you can do it.
