I will try to keep it short.

I had a website to be SEOed 2 months back. I gave it to a so called "SEO Company" in my town. A best friend of mine who is also a partner with me in my venture, adviced me to give this company a try. So I gave them relatively easy niche to be ranked. A medium competition for the keywords I gave them. The niche is a fake one to be monetized with CPA offers. And I agreed to pay 140USD. They asked for a time of 1.5 months with every week report.

Every week I had to ring them about my report, and they made some excuses. Ocassionally they gave me a report which is no more than a SHIT. The only "SEO" they know is "Directory Submission". They submitted my website to some 30-50 web directory over this course of 1.5 months and even those are "pending approval".

I got pissed by that report and decided to meet the guy whom they appoint to do SEO for my website. I asked few questions to him and that "SEO E-X-P-E-R-T" failed in every aspect. Let me tell you his expert-SEO knowledge:

- Did not know what a Page Rank of website means. (yes he called himself seo expert :D)
- Did not know what is tier link building.
- Did not know how to index a backlink.. infact when I asked him how do you index the backlinks, he made a confused face asking- what on fucking earth is it?
- Asked him how many web 2.0 you will make: No Fucking idea what a web 2.0 is.

I am no SEO expert myself yet i know these terms. The funny thing is, even then I did not realise that these people are scamming me. Then, I gave him some tips to do it in a proper way. Told him do some web 2.0 submission. Explained him few things.
After entire 1 month: When I called them, they said: "Sir we need content to do this Web 2.0. We did not know that people charge money for writing content. So either you provide us content, or pay extra for it."

I was so damn pissed at this statement. Told him stop doing it, I will hire someone else. I do not regret for those 140$ I lost but the 2 months time those motherfuckers wasted.. hurts a lot. I could have done it better myself, or even better: buy a service from BST. Damn.

Lesson Learnt: Do not trust mere words, take test.. even when your best friends are to be questioned.

Damn, Sorry to hear that. I guess that guy was living on the Moon.. lol

$140 is not a lot for SEO. You are better off spending that money on a BHW BST service that will yield much better results.

post your job application at that "SEO COMPANY" ... if you already proven that they don't know their shit you're basically the guy to hire

yeah man, I knew BST services are atleast 100 times better then this. Yet I made this mistake. A bad decision, early in my IM career. Would never repeat such mistake.

LOL haha. I am no seo expert and yet i know these terms.. oh the irony :)
No i do not need a job with that company.. or any SEO company. I am learning things myself and earning with PPD/CPA. I better do SEO for my own site rather than working for some shitty company. I will learn better this way.

I wouldn't really call it a scam....you paid $140... you got what you paid for. Nothing

You won't get any better service than those in bst, best seo is the one found on bhw, the rest of the world believes in directory submissions, SE pinging, lots of onpage etc.

I didnt pay for NOTHING :(
Too early in my career to donate my money to such stupid company. I would have rather donated it to BHW where i am learning such amazing tutorials for free.

Sounds like you got scammed, yeah..but what were you really expecting for $150? That's what, 3-4 hours of a professional's time? And you expect to rank?

$150 may be worth half a backlink in the US, but don't forget it 's half a monthly salary on other parts of the world - notice how they asked for 1.5 month to do it. So don't assume he shouldn't expect nothing with that money ;)

You shoulda got a donor/jrvip status instead of paying for nothing

A little more than 40 web directory submission.
As i said i do not care for money(not literally though), but i regret the 2 months they wasted.

yeah, I am from india where 140$= 8960 rs according to todays rate :D
Many people make a living out of this amount here.

OP, Here is how to compensate for your $140 loss:

Printout the Google SEO/Webmaster guidelines and wrap it round a brick.
Go back and smash his windows.

Why don't people just use the providers here? This is why I love this place!

I can rank keywords much better using the service here whilst the competition are paying a local SEO company who charge through the roof and can't beat the guys I use!

haha, sure thing. they need it so bad mate. I will add few BST services too ;)

Maybe you should try and open a shitlist thread and see if you can get your money back

I did not buy anything from BST. Shitlist is for purchase made through this forum. The results would have been a lot better if i bought any SEO service from BST.
