With all due respect, you did ask for cPanel alternatives.
It is expected that if asked a question on a forum, that you would get answers as well as opinions and advice.
If you dont like the answer(s), dont ask the question(s).
Having said that, if you got 60 something sites and complaining about $15 a month (or whatever it is), it is quite clear you have over-extended your portfolio to the point where cashflow cannot support it. The best advice (even if you dont want it), is to consider consolidating your websites (or even selling the loss-making websites/domains) and only keep the profitable websites. Then focus on increasing the revenue for the websites that do make you money. You can always expand at a later point. So dump the sites/domains that are making you lose money or not making money, and this will free up cash that you can use to properly invest in your hosting infrastructure for sites that make money.
I use cpanel (and WHM) on a daily basis. However I am happy to pay the $15 a month for cpanel because it saves me time and money. Lets pretend I spend an hour a day doing cpanel/whm administration, and that an hour of my time is $20. Now if I used free alternatives (ssh or whatever), it saves me money, but it costs me time (lets say 2 hours). In that example I have saved $15, but I have wasted an additional hour (wasted $20) I could have used to make more money.
And yeah some people do go off and start their own forums, but most of them fail, and are missing the depth of knowledge here at BHW. Knowledge is power and here in BHW there are many well respected members who are more experienced than you (and even me).
So the answer to the question you asked is very simple: There is no alternative to cpanel unless you want to waste additional time you could use more productively.
Ever wonder why people go start other forums? For real fatboy and kvm bumped in the thread offering advice I did not ask for.. I was not asking if I should abandon cpanel. I was wondering what free or low cost alternatives there are. Whoever negrepped me should really grow up or at least have sack enough to put your name on it. At least fatboy and kvm manned up.
