Site outranking me with no backlinks WTF?

Hi guys, this site was ranking in first page in long time, but in last week he just hit #1 spot, now he is in #5

No backlinks, no content, site built with iframe, no social media signals, this site has nothing good. Comparing to my site in Ahrefs i rape him every area. So, im bit lost now and I want to know outside opinion, any guys have clues?

He is in first page for a long time, so i dont believe its a google dance.

Looks like the site/domain itself it over 5 years old, that might be the reason.

If hes there hes probably redirecting and blocking the ahresh and other stuff, he is doing a good job covering his tracks.

As other people said he's probably got a shit ton of 301s - I remember analyzing the top competitor for the highly competitive 'e-cig' keyword and seeing no backlinks on the number1 spot.. Then I found out he had lots of 301 redirects and all of these had many backlinks going to them.. sneaky

And how can I check if there's any 301 to his page when he cover the tracks this way?

It is quite hard to track the 301 redirects as they may have purposefully blocked where you can view the backlinks. One way round it would be to use all the backlink analysers you can find and hope they missed one, so try majesticseo, site explorer, ahrefs and any other you can find. That might help highlight those backlinks.

I'd say this is what's happening. If he was #1 and immediately went to #5, he's dancing - which means something is going on. Since he's not getting any links indexed in ahrefs - most likely he has some 301ed domains blocking majestic/ahrefs.

He's dancing but only in #1 and #5 spot. Its been a long time he is on first page, only 301 explain this. But I didn't find nothing in ahrefs, OSE and majestic.

That pisses me off. If I find the 301 at least, I'll be less angry because its explainable.

You only should have a 1.5 to 2.0 keyword density on your whole website including your url.

If he blocks ahrefs this is only going to block it from his site. It isn't going to make a blind bit of difference to sites where he has a backlink and ahrefs is not blocked.

It wouldn't surprise me if he has very blackhat links...which will only ever be seen by googlebot.

I'm wondering about the same thing, any idea on how to check those 301's? The site is hiding them from all linkcheckers I've treid.
