Hi,Do you prefer in-house affiliate program or affiliate network?

Hi,
In-house affiliate program is a somewhat big time but low profile program that tends to stay stable. Stable in the sense that they don't want too much money and too much exposure which will be a liability in the end. Affiliate network however is different from an affiliate program. Affiliate network from my own point of view is a (CORPORATION) or an organization which consists of multiple affiliate programs or affiliates who has the sole discretion of making money by their own sales, or do marketing and provide 3rd party affiliation.
Please correct me if I'm wrong.. Thank you..
By the way, I'm looking for someone who can sell a customized in-house design of an affiliate program with Support Access for Customer Service, Access for suppliers for realtime update of shipments, access for payment processor for real time payment processing Virtual Terminal - PCI compliance is assured (ssl encrypted), complete back office, order management (for applicable areas), drop shipping all in one.. Would appreciate help. Due date is 2nd week of Aug. Willing to pay the price as long as design is worth paying for.
In-house meaning we buy the design, we do the administration, hosting etc.
Thank you BHW
yes, agree with you. From an affiliate's perspective, an in-house aff programme is typically far more risky, as not only do you lack the certainty that you'll get paid (even though many affiliate networks don't pay if the advertiser don't pay them, most people don't realise it), but you can also never be sure that tracking is accurate and that stats aren't fiddled with - in cases where tracking software is proprietary.
From provider's point of view - an in-house solution is better in terms of both cost and flexibility, however there are several issues that come with it, such as having to handle all affiliate payments (depending on your jurisdiction, this could be an accounting nightmare!), dealing with fraud, etc. etc.
Generally speaking, commissions will be higher for in-house affiliate program. Because merchants should pay the transfer fee if they are in the affiliate network.
And a paid one: http://www.idevdirect.com/idevaffiliate.php
