Where all the above came from:
Just last night, I had occasion to have to refuse final payment of $170 for AC repair on my vehicle. Over the last week I've paid this guy $440 for parts and labor, and last night he wanted to return the vehicle and recieve final payment.
Drove to the bank to get his cash, and en route the AC blew cold and so I called him to let him know I was satisfied and would be bringing him his cash within the hour. However, after a brief stop at the grocery, the AC stopped blowing cold air, and only blew room temperature air.
Drove the vehicle straight to his house (at midnight), showed him how the AC was no longer blowing cold air, and told him I wouldn't be paying him his final $170 until the AC blew cold air consistently. He wanted his money anyways, to "pay him for the work he's done this far", and I refused. To his face, on the street, in front of his house, I looked him in the eye and said no. I said some other things too. Just finished watching Season 1 of "Breaking Bad" last night, and am mid-way through Season 2, and I will say I am quite inspired now to assert myself in any situation no matter what. One of the few times where sitting on my ass and being entertained by a TV show has resulted in a substantive and constructive change in my character.
I've learned how to look people in the eye and say "Fuck no." with a level of courage and commitment I've never had before. No apologies, and I really don't give a fuck about a long list of things that he said, to include how much time he spent "working" on the problem, his family, his bills to pay, and the fact that he's a christian.
"Working on the problem" was redefined as "failing to find and fix the problem" and I don't give a fuck how long it took. The longer it takes, the more it indicates he doesn't know what he is doing, and that doesn't earn him MORE money, it earns him less. I told him this.
Also, the fact that he has mentioned on several occasions that he is a Christian, to the extent that he stated explicitly that since he is a Christian, I should trust that he would find and fix the problem the next day, after I paid him in full, was not a "plus" in my estimation; instead it was a minus. The reason is because he was violating the Commandment against "taking the Lord's name in vain" which many so-called Christians do not even know means using God, the idea of God, or association themselves with God, in order to acquire and unearned and undeserved trust, usually from the person that they are about to scam or defraud.
That's a "pro-tip", btw. Someone points to and underlines their affiliation with God, church, religion or some kind of moral spirituality in the middle of a business deal; it's usually a really good indicator of their dishonest intent and malevolent character.
When you do business with me, you should trust me because I speak the truth openly, and I'm not afraid to call things as they are. Self-professed "christians" use the trappings of religion and morality as ornaments, to fill the void where a normal conscience is supposed to be.
So today, I have a very low tolerance level for bullshit, and this "seo guy" (whatever) is completely full of it. I'm dealing with him like I did with this cheating, lying and manipulating AC repair guy last night, and am posting both anecdotes in order to possibly help someone else identify these people and avoid getting involved with them, because they are dishonest, lying slime that are capable of anything, to include believing in their own lies.
