Hi everyone. I just had to verify my Associated Content Account by phone. I only have 1 account, thank god. I'm here to warn everyone that they are cracking down. As soon as I logged into my account there was a red bar next to my payments saying to click here to verify. I clicked to phone it in and had to put my phone#. There are only 2 ways to get this verified, phone or text. It also says that this verification box will close in 5 mins. As soon as I put my number in the phone rang. It was a computer giving me my code. So heads up anyone with multiple accounts.

All you guys need to do to get us numbers is get some VCC or use PayPal and buy a skype number. Doesn't cost that much and you can always get a new number pretty cheap.
* While you can send texts with skype you can't receive unless you have it forwarded to your cell phone. (Pretty sure, may have changed since I last checked)

This is no different than CL introducing PVA's. There are methods on this forum for making PVAs. If you can't figure out how to phone-verify an account...I don't even know what to say. Go get a job at McDonalds, because IM is not for you. Seriously, I generally try to be nice and enjoy helping people...but 'cmon. If a PVA stops you...I don't even know what to say.

I think there is a simple solution to this verification crap.. It's called a payphone. The last time I checked each has the phone number written down on them, pull the information and send it into AC and get your code.
There are millions of payphones in America, one phone per account. I think you can still call them, the last time I checked you could.

.50-.75 Cents per call? Obviously if you want to use American phones you'd need someone on American soil.

How does a payphone in the US help someone in Europe? If you live in the US and dont have access to 50 cellphones you should turn the PC off and stop being such a fucking recluse.
This is a problem for europeans not americans.
The time limit they added makes it a little problematic getting a code off someone else.
If you really can't verify your account let me know, I have dozens of sycophants on my forum who'll do whatever I ask.

go out and buy a prepaid phone. theyre like 8 dollars, and come with a few minutes. then you dont have to worry about not having a number and youll be verified. (same goes for those not in US, just get someone to buy you one and give you the code)

It helps because if you or anyone one else actually has a friend or business partner in the United States they could verify it easily for you, but if you want to invest more money into Skype and cell phones be my guest.
I'd much rather have the damn thing call the pay phone and remain completely under the radar if you wish to remain anonymous to them.
If you don't know where to start, then you should just turn your computer off or go back to your forums and have them do it for you.

Those of you who have heard of the Magic Jack and have a hi-speed connection, should know it can be used to set up a phone number from most anywhere around the world. If you can afford the $40 bucks, there's your number for AC verification purposes.
If you are really daring and want to use it for multiple numbers, you should note that it's possible to add additional accounts to the thing to create additional numbers ($20 each per year). I haven't done this, but it should be possible to put in bogus info in setting up the different accounts (using a different proxy IP for each one), so they aren't able to bill you for the additional numbers. Then you could verify into infinity for multiple ACs, CLs etc.
