Hi guys! First of all, I'd like to thank Gob and everyone else for the great info provided. I've already published a couple of non-fiction how-to ebooks, but now I've decided to go the erotica route. Sadly though, my first erotica book did not get accepted. I've tried contacting them about it, but apparently they don't give you the details... just the generic 'read our quality guidelines' reply. I've read it three times and still can't find the problem. Grammar, spelling and overall quality shouldn't be a problem, because I've had other books published there with no hassle whatsoever. I mean, I can guess what the problem is... the sex scene does tend to include some rather harsh expressions and curse words, but hey, that's how it naturally progresses sometimes, right? Either that, or the fact that
the main 'intercoursing' actors are both 17 years old. If it's just that, I can change a sentence and have it fixed. If it's the other thing... then that's both sad and depressing, because I feel severely limited as an artist if I can't have harsh scenes in there. Not to mention I'd be guessing anyhow as to what's prohibited and what isn't and would be limiting myself in ways not even required, just to make sure my work gets accepted. I feel the overall quality would suffer that way. It really wouldn't hurt them to add a sentence or two explaining things like Ezine articles does, so you don't have to stumble in the dark. And by the way... what do they mean by 'no pornography allowed'? How can erotica exist without it? I do hope this refers to the graphics and things of that nature and not the text itself. Thanks for the clarification. If anyone has any ideas about this, I would really appreciate them right now. Publishing your first work of fiction and not passing the review phase can sure bring a man down.
