How to Kill Sites Ranking

Tom- Just google spreadshirt and you will understand tom. It's a merchant shop with limited access. They just let you do some basic css colors and stuff while they maintain full control of everything. Check it out and you will understand.

Techxan- Those are honestly really good ideas, but in an effort to promote long term growth and create for myself a longterm goal I just deleted the spreadshirt shop with the hopes that doing some good SEO on my new, privately hosted domain will eventually allow me to completely beat out and put behind me the old spreadshirt merchant shop.

I guess that's it then guys! Thanks for all the help and sorry for the confusion. I will use this thread as a reminder that I need to be more clear in the future.

-Cheers

i dont think Tompots understood what you were trying to say. Tom the site has limited access..

OP, you weren't very clear in your opening post that is why people were confused.

The advice given by muscleteen and and Techxan seems good.

If it was me, I would rather just have the 2 sites ranking for the time being.
You can get rid of the first site ONCE your new site has outranked it.
I would put everything back on the first site UNTIL this has happened.

Tom made a fair assumption based on the amount of newbies that sign up here to fish on a daily basis.

So as I see it you have no control over the url as its spreadshirt."yourbrand".com ? even if you do close the page its indexed and will be there forever.

Its kind of like trying to suppress negative seo. You will need to push down the spreadshirt link with your own links. That wont be easy by the way as spreadshirt has a Domain Authority of 86.

So you need to get high ranking links for your brand that will outrank that. I would start social with facebook/yourbrand---twitter/yourbrand--instagram-pinterest-etc

Next I would build some web 2.0 minisites. Similar in concept to spreadshirt but you will own and control them and will be able to hyperlink your own site and write articles that drive traffic toward your mainsite. I am thinking wordpress, blogger, tumblr, bravesites etc

If possible I would also get a youtube channel--branded remember ? and put up a few videos. If you know any musicians Soundcloud or beatport accounts are worth picking up if available.

You will need to give it a bit of time for all this to mature but you should have 7-10 results on the frontpage that you control and that point direct to your actual site.

Good Luck.

Just wait until it's de-indexed.

You won't be able to verify through a webmasters account if you only have access to inventory and CSS. Besides the fact that the account was deleted. You may just want to see if you can create a new account under the previous name and let it idle a slow and painful death to ensure no one tries to re-rank it for your targeted keywords.

Hire Fiverr gigs to your competitor's site. Best form of negative SEO.

No worries Tom, I will try and create clearer, more concise content in the future to avoid this sort of confusion.

As for everyone else I would like to thank you for the suggestions as to how I should go about maintaing control of my brand. They are all great ideas and I will be implementing them shortly. I am glad that the BHW community was able to show me a way out of the hole I dug myself into. Thanks again!

I made an assumption and was incorrect, I apologize, the title of the thread " How to Kill Sites Ranking " is a familiar site around here., and most of the time is an unwelcome thread about neg SEO, and after reading your post that is how it sounded to me.

+ Rep given

Yes I made an assumption too based on bad or incomplete info and this is from a guy who's brother does quite a bit of bussiness on a site called redbubble which seems VERY similar...

In this case just start seo on your own site eventually it will surpass that site on its own, also cant you remove your art? If you can that will make the page nose dive for your rand name, after all if there is no content there is nothing to rank
