How to get a free Wordpress blog indexed on Google?

It gets indexed automatically.

There's a checkbox that you can check/uncheck that allows/disallows search engines to index your website/blog.

You can also try pinging, but it's really not necessary. WP is usually pretty good at sending updates to search engines.

how do i make sure its not default? I can't change the site much because it's the free one. Also does Google mind that I am constantly submitting sitemaps on their webmaster page from the same ip? (for all the tier 1 and 2 blogs)

Yeah, Do some good on page Seo and try to add more content on your site. My blogs usually take 3-4 days to get index.

As for my experience it gets indexed after 2-3 days after doing some social bookmarks. So rest assure that your free wordpress site will be index in Google.

IF you have XML sitemap and Blog checked to viewable for Search Engine then you need to submit your site to some Social Book marking sites and put them to Social Media and your Blog will be indexed 100%.
