Hello,

I should really look on this site more often for information because it is fantastic, but I have one thing that I haven't really found an answer to (maybe for good reason). I currently am in a part-time job of finding clients for a SEO company. I know about all of the freelancing sites: Freelancer, elance, odesk, guru, etc. but I would like to have the customers come to me. I've thought about classified ads, craigslist (however I've never gotton any response there so far) but I'm not quite sure what really works.

I have just started doing this freelancing style job. If there is someone out there that can help guide me towards a proven or efficient way of gathering potential leads from either online or offline.

The SEO service is quite good in price, quality, and some freebie offers so it shouldn't be hard to sell to clients.

So just to re-cap, I would love any advice as to how I could gather leads more efficiently. Is there software out there? Other websites? Or am I just not working hard enough? Thanks in advance!;)

Read around, search, retain information. Try methods, see what works for you, upscale and earn revenue.

For offline you can always try calling and representing yourself, many people owning a websites, selling their some kind of services they never heard about SEO before if you call them and talk with them for a few minutes explaining what is SEO, how it works and why it is worth to buy your service they might get interested in that. This is my few cents, any twists can be applied in this simple tip

Good luck!

Thanks. I live in a small town so while I will am more likely to know these people at a more personal level, they might not also have the business size to need SEO yet. However it's worth a try. Physically representing yourself may be more difficult but nothing good ever came without effort.

It depends on the deal you have with the company you're generating leads for. A lot of affiliates that I work with generate most of their leads from SEO, PPC and email. I'm sure that'd work well in any industry.

Probably one of the easiest ways to start is looking for offline clients. Generally offline clients who are seeking to expand their presence online are more inclined to parting with cash than most others. There are plenty of great threads on this forum about finding offline clients for an SEO service; just use the search function and you'll find them.

Remember to be professional and authoritative when you make contact with prospective clients as well.

It will all depend on how well you use psychology and acting / arbitration to make sales and if your service is of excellence.
