BMD Theories/Ideas/Questions

To start, I love Bookmarking Demon. I have been using it with some great results but I would really like to know how others are using it. My Social Bookmarking plan goes something like this...

1. Spend the time to manually create accounts on the top 25 Social bookmarking sites. I know, this is tedious and I hate it. But I am careful to fill out the profile, add a photo, etc... In the profile adding my URL is a must. I also name this profile a major keyword (ie, product name, business name, or any keyword in the URL of my main site)

2. I will add a few pages to these social bookmarking sites that I just manually created. I never add the main URL but interior pages for deeper linking.

3. I then setup social networking accounts... MySpace, LinkedIn, Bebo, Flickr, etc... I will do a few Clipmarks postings, add a few answers at Yahoo!Answers questions. These are more time consuming but I want my URL in every profile or post.

4. I then fire up BMD and set up accounts automatically with the sites that come with BMD and the sites I have loaded. I have 300 or so. Once the accounts are setup I begin to build the pages I want to submit.

4.) I have a fear of getting my main URL banned on social bookmarking sites so except for the few manual accounts i set up I will never submit my main URL again. Instead I spend my time bookmarking every page that has my URL in it. I will go ahead and bookmark my Yahoo!Answers posting, my ClipMarks, LinkedIn, MySpace, etc... I then take it a step further and I bookmark the profile pages from the social bookmarking sites I manually signed up for. My Digg account has my URL in it... so I bookmark it on 300 other bookmarking sites. I do this with every profile I have that has my URL in it.

5.) I have found better results by bookmarking sites that have my URL in it's profile than actually booking my main URL. The best results from pages Google scans and lists immediately.

ClipMarks, 43 Things, MySpace and Twitter tend to be the fastest, for me, for Google finding my URL and listing it within minutes of posting.

How do you guys use your BMD? How often do you post?

What are the best sites for having Google find and list your link the fastest?

I found a little software that find sites for you to blend into your bookmarking to keep it from looking like spam.

I heard that the sitelist BMD comes with is old and outdated. Is it still worth to purchase BMD? Where do I get good sitelists? How often is BMD updated and is it for free? kind regards!

A lot of them are nofollows as well as redirects. will that improve my pr? more and more bookmarking sites go offline,nofollow or redirect...hmmm

The BMD list kinda sucks... it's up to you to load a quality list of Do-Follow sites. My list is at 300 sites now... I wish i could get someone to share a solid Pligg and Scuttle list ready to download into BMD. I would even pay for a solid list... I wish someone was willing t share because adding links to each site I have a link to my money site on has proven to be productive.

Anyone have a good list they want to share???? $$$$ PM me.

Why do you care about PR so much? it doesn't bring traffic, it doesn't pay the bills,it is just a a webmaster dick measuring tool, nothing more..

But it depends on your list, if you have a good list you will get PR if your list sucks well .... no PR for you then

I would want to add, many users (your customers, site visitors, those who help you to make money) are very search centric. you will be amazed that some of them think that the whole internet is google.

They search for something on google, click on the first link they see, and buy something from there. Imagine if the first link turns up ebay.com, and they bought something there. they would think that ebay.com belongs to google.

Ability to get to that page 1 really makes huge difference on how much money you make. Ability to get to that page 1 with content then will make people take out their purse and pay for makes another huge difference on how much money you make. This is especially true for affiliate marketers.

But this is not totally true if you are talking about adsense. Sites making money from adsense should look for quickly drive the traffic to the ads. Ugly sites usually does this better.

It's all about the users, who are you targetting?

I put this list into BMD and have over 3000 bookmarking sites in BMD now. I ran BMD twice over the weekend. Monday I had some links showing up in the 2nd page of google. I have a list over 300 websites to bookmark and set BMD to bookmark only 1 to 2% of my sites. That worked out to 3 to 10 bookmarks per account.

To put the list into BMD I had to copy all the links into BMD 4 times. Once for each type of captcha.

Here's how I did it:
Copy all the links into BMD - choose no capcha
Create a new set of accounts on all the sites
Go back and delete all the sites that did not have an account created on them. You have to delete the sites with no accounts so that you can use them again with a different type of captcha. If you don't delete them, BMD will not accept them again when you try to copy and paste the list again for a different captcha

Put the links in again - choose orange captcha
create a new set of accounts on all sites
Go back and delete all the sites that did not have an account created on them.

I still have to do this for the last 2 kinds of captchas
Each time I created new accounts it took about 10 hours to create the accounts and delete the sites that did not set up accounts. But I went from having a list of 600 bookmarking sites to over 3000 now.

that sounds like a lot of work movieman, have you noticed any benefits to your sites from using it?

The one benefit I see is 2 of my bookmarks are on page 2 of goog for my keyword. It is a lot of work, but without trying different things you don't know what is going to work for you. But I only have to set up BMD with all the bookmarking sites and then they are in there forever.
