I hit $100/ week with Kindle

Wow. Congratulations! This is great motivation for those of us just starting. I have a few books in the works myself. I still need to do some final proofreading, books covers, and illustrations. I've just been distracted by other side projects and too lazy to create the job postings. For the books that haven't been selling, I might recommend possibly revising your covers and book descriptions to make them more captivating.

Cazzina, I personally wouldn't recommend writing your own reviews. The review guidelines state that they will remove any reviews that are prohibited, but I don't know if they stop just at that. I wouldn't chance getting banned. You could try to get your friends, family, and their friends to download your book when it is on free promotion. Also, I don't know if it has been mentioned previously, but I've seen some kindle books with a request for a review and even a link on the 2nd page of the book. So you can add that into your book.

Yeah, definitely don't download yourself. I've heard of people having their accounts banned for this.

Has anyone tried doing an senuke blast for their kindle book?

Have never tried SENuke, so can't comment there.

What I'm going to be doing is predominantly using FB and G+. This is a great way to communicate with readers (fans?) and develop somewhat of a personal relationship. This way you can almost guarantee some positive reviews. FB and G+ are also perfect platforms to run competitions and give away free copies to the winners, allowing you to boost your following and generate even more reviews (positive ones, we hope).

I love the idea of a work group on Skype. This type of thing works. I have been in them before.

Skype forum, why wouldn't I think about that sooner. I would love to join it! Creating an eBook is taking too much time I guess. I don't understand why people putting up a hard work just for the cover. Is the cover really worth to work on?

Alright, so someone sent me these questions and I thought it would be beneficial to answer them here for everyone to see:

1. Does niche matter a lot? Go for saturated ones because of more demand or go for unsaturated ones because of less competition?

Niche is very important. You need to choose your categories carefully. You want the category to be active, but not saturated.

2. I was browsing Kindle store, and noticed several "real" writers there, some even famous. Would it be smart to stay away from their niche?
If you find a writer with a book that's hot you can probably "piggy back" off their success. You have to realize that people are buying multiple books on their Kindles. So, they may come across your's while they are hunting for their next book to read.

3. How many words/pages should a book be at minimum?
I think a minimum amount would be 4000 words. People will give you negative reviews if your book is short and over priced.

4. Fiction or guides/howto's?
I'm only doing fiction for now, but I hear there is good money in non-fiction.

5. What would you recommend as a good beginner project for Kindle? What is considered easy/difficult?
Honestly, it's all difficult. I would stay away from doing longer books until you find a good niche, and marketing strategy. That is what I am doing. Refine your methods then scale it up, just like anything else in IM. I would hate to waste that much time or money on a long book and just have it bomb.

6. How to go about if you want your book translated to another language?
No idea. Outsource it I suppose.

7. Any do's and dont's regarding Kindle?
Dont think you can game Amazon on this. It won't work. So, stay away from black hat stuff. From the start try and figure out a good marketing strategy, it'll pay off in the long-run.

These answers are just my opinion. I am in no way an expert and I'm still new at this. Hop on google, and just find stuff about Kindle. That's what I have been doing.

Also, you guys wanting to join the group need to PM me your skype name or post it in here please!

Yes, it is important but you can get one on Fiverr or do it on photoshop using free stock photos.

Nice method! Good excuse to brush up on my writing skills... my graphics game is on point though son!!! lol I'm assuming I would have to purchase a Kindle first though in order to get this up and running smoothly... :(

Negative. I don't own a Kindle. I have the free app for my phone though.

The free kindle app for iPad works a dandy. I think they simply compiled the real kindle operating system into an app, it looks and feels like the real thing.

Wow! That's great! Congratulations! Many people are trying to write ebooks and sell it through Kindle. There are a few successes, and there are also several failures. Nevertheless, Kindle is one great way to earn.

Just a little update about the Skype group. Ill be creating it tonight. I've been busy all week with work. So, just bear with me.

Also, my books are bombing this week. I don't know what's happening. Maybe it's just a slow week. I think I'll be back around the $50 mark. Time to outsource some reviews, and work on marketing.

I would like to be on the skype group. Right now I have a few hundred dollars and looking for a writer to pen a few books.
