do you all really think that Link Building is still exists ??

If you make a shitty site it may be difficult to rank (and definitely difficult to convert to cash, i.e. make humans trust your site)

If you have no incoming links you won't rank either.

Need both, period.

What you don't need (for ranking) is 'social'. (facebook likes etc). It does not affect google ranking and he who tells you otherwise is a hippie liar trying to 'write something interesting and different' on his seo blog. You take the bait, you're a sucker, plain and simple.

Forget likes, pins, tweets. Concentrate on building a site that humans like and on getting quality links to that site. End of story.

Two School of thoughts over here.

1. Deliberate backlink building - Creating backlink with the sole intention to rank in search engine

2. Organic Backlink building - Focus on quality contents. Assuming visitors to your site who like the contents will spread your site on your behalf.

Conclusion, backlink building still works.

Link building is working, no doubt but only quality link building is doing well. I hope you understand me with the topic of quality link building.

Make authority site.
Get links from good domains.
Social Presence.
Add More and more quality content.
P.s- Backlinking isnt dead mate.

i heard it used to not work but looking at this responses makes me believe it does i guess lol.

FUCKING BULLSHIT THREADFUCKING BUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUULLSHIT THREAD*annoying fucking 8 year old voice:Do you thinkz youz can make moneyz on tha internetz???Iz it pozzible to work on yourz own?Iz SEO dead? FUCKING RETARDED THREAD MAN
Who is retarded now? And funny enough a lot of people gave him thanks for this immature post. I think we should be more professional in the way we respond to thread. Apparently, the thread starter is not from an English country and has been doing the wrong thing with SEO without any result. All he wanted was a decent answer to his naive questions. Woo unto you Reyone..

Link building will work all the time, imagine if they "turn off" the link building, that would be a mass crisis on most websites, big disbalance and they would need a brand new algorithm. Link building is way harder if we compare what it was few years ago, but the ones who constantly works with SEO and link building finding out it normally, it is just really hard for a new player to hop in the SEO ship, while you dont know the basics and andvanced information which you need to know, to run SEO on your website safetly.

Link building will never be gone. Some of the link building methods may not be as much use or benefit, but still, link building will never die.

It's only a piece of the pie. It's worthless if you get tons of backlinks from crappy places all of the sudden. There's lots more involved anyways than just plain backlinks.
1) Time spent on the site
2) Unique content
3) How often updated
4) How many sites per ips
5) Where it's hosted
6) What's hosted with the site
7) Nameservers
8) Time to load
9) What is it linking to
10) Number of incoming links
11) Quality of incoming links
12) How fast those incoming links showed up
13) What's on the site (flash/javascript)

etc...etc...

How do you think our websites all rank? Seriously!

What works?

1. A well maintained website
2. and No Shitty Tier1 Backlinks like blog comments, web2s, wikis, directories.... etc..

On page is must and then off page is all about to rank you site in Google. Content writing is must to get back the users, users don't like to view the things again and again. Well design site with valuable content which gives the users desired information keeps the users busy on site.

Wrong. They're not enough by themselves to rank for competitive keywords but can make the difference between two otherwise equal sites, and on low competition keywords they can be enough to rank a site on their own. I have a site at #3 for a low comp keyword, I wasn't even trying to rank it & the only backlinks it has is tweets.

2. and No Shitty Tier1 Backlinks like blog comments, web2s, wikis, directories.... etc..

I steer clear of blog comments & wikis in tier 1, but some web2.0s & niche-relevant directories make your backlink profile look more natural. They don't do much benefit in terms of ranking but they do stop you getting flagged for unnatural linking.

Well... now you have my attention :) Convince me that linkbuilding doesn't exist or that it doesn't work.
I would agree that is doesn't work the proper way or that is is much harder but, if it is useless then why do you think people still talk about it and exchange tips? :)

Have you got the research to back up your statement? I have read about G+ having some value, though it's certainly not a big influence.
I myself haven't done the research so I'm not saying it's true or false, but seemingly you know more, can you prove it?

Hi I am random person

I am believes link building doesn't work

I am go ask others anyway.. if it does.. thats how much I am believes link building doesn't work..

Hi i am new to this forum and yes i am still not believes link building will work, Creating back links with out making sites better :/ not perfect for SEO.
I know it's a bit controversial to all, and know some of you believes, but i don't think so .... If you have any better idea apart from engaging in back links work then share with me.....
mate, link building is part 2 of your seo. part 1 is your site configuration.
link building is crapp if u dont optimize your in page.
when people talk about link building, by default we conclude that the site is well optimized and we are ready for part 2 (linkbuilding).
new or not new, you should know that.
step 1 on page, step 2 off page.

best wishes
leobar

No... but Muscleteen exists :), and his name anywhere on the site will make the site an instant authority, even if the site has only a blank page to show.

Someone has ranked a localhost site (on PC) on top of the SERPS for a hugely competitive keyword... and that site had only 1 blank page!! Guess how and why? ;)
