So, I've been on the forums for almost two months. I've been experimenting with Kindle for a month now, and the week ending 6/22 I hit $100. The week ending 6/15 I made around $54. I know it's not a lot for the week, but I consider this a hobby because I have a full-time job. Yes, I hope to make six figures off of this, but you have to appreciate the small goals you hit on the way to the ultimate accomplishment.

Also, I wasn't able to upload as many books as I would like. I should be able to double this amount in the next two weeks, though. I have one book going live in the next two days(coming off KDP Free promo), and two other books I am uploading tonight.

Furthermore, this is with pretty much zero marketing. I plan on researching some marketing techniques. I think I could easily double my book sales with minimum effort once I get a good marketing system down.

What I've learned in my very short career in IM is just try and enjoy what you're doing. This is all about being creative, and creating things is fun. Have fun with what you are doing, and the success will come.

I planned on starting on Kindle myself--- And good job for taking action! People spend years on this site without taking any action and try to find 'cheap' ways of making money. You invested time and money, and you get out quality in return. Good job!

You have the right attitude: it's all about the long haul and doing what you enjoy in the process. I would say these figures are excellent for only 4 weeks. At this rate you'll be pulling in $3K a month in no time. Nice going!

congrats - how many books did you release to get to this number, and how many pages in each book roughly?

Congrats on the $100 mark.

I tried Kindle publishing but the books came out a mess, they wouldn't format right on my own kindle and then the previews on the Amazon pages were shit. I guess I need to work on it more.

Was using the InDesign export plugin.

I have a guy doing this for me for $30/book. Each one is formatted properly and looks nice.
@OP, good job, I am doing the same thing. What do you write about? You stick with one niche or..?

congrats...

I have one book up that makes me 30c a week.. LOL.

I'm trying with another 10 book.. hope it makes more.

Thanks for the encouraging man... I started with kindle a month ago then I stopped.. but hopefully this will be a good kick start for me...

This is with five books uploaded. Only two are selling, though. The other three are bombs.

Congrats on the $100 mark.

If you would like to get rid of those books PM me, and maybe we can work something out or I can help you with the formatting part.

I have a lady I use sometimes that charges $20/ book with a one day turn around time. Let me know if you'd like her contact info.

Thanks for all the encouragement guys. Kindle is not easy. It does require a lot of work, but anything that makes good money is not easy. If it was easy, everyone would be doing it. If any one has any questions or needs help, feel free to PM me. Like I told Dr. Acula, I speak with a number of Kindle guys on a regular basis to share ideas. It is better to work together to brain storm.

I think I am going to create a Skype group for Kindle so we can help each other out. PM me your Skype if you would like to be added.

Hit me up, I'm also doing KDP program and would love to share tips with other BHW. Congrats on hitting 100 per week

Thanks for the idea, outsourcing could be the solution for me. Where did you find the guy? Might I PM you in the future for contact?

Hi,

What are the niches that do well on kindle? The usual health, fitness, relationships? Or do short stories do well?

Would love some insight on this..

I'm interested in the kindle skype group, please pm me with your info.

It isn't that difficult. With word it is easy and fast.

If you have quality book then every niche is good once you get positive reviews after free promotion.

might have to check this niche a bit more as i have full time job but always on pc, so if i can get some more money when all the better

Just go on Elance, post a job and say what's your budget. I can give you a link to the profile of the guy that do this for me

Who would have thought.... I abandoned Word about 10 years ago.... Using LibreOffice(previously OpenOffice) since...

wow you guys are worrying me a bit about the whole formating process! hope i can get it done right.

congrats to the 100 per week! i'm currently writing my first book, for the german market though- no idea how that will go.

i have a question about reviews btw- can't i just download my own book from several computers in the free 5 first days and write some good reviews myself?
