Tweet Demon Suspensions

I had 2 accounts suspended yesterday:

Account A suspended after following just 22 people.
Account B suspended after following 76.

I was using a Private Proxy for each of the accounts and wasn't using the same proxy on any other existing tasks. These are the settings I had:

Limit from 145 to 195 (although neither got anywhere near this limit anyway)
Delay from 300 to 360 - that's 5-6 minutes before it attempts to follow another user.

I find it quite surprising that these settings resulted in 2 suspensions and was wondering if it's because of how Tweet Demon is connecting to the accounts?

Account A was new - but even so, 22 is still hardly anything. Account B was a few months old and that still only got to 76.

Any input from people who have found a better automated setting?

Maybe it is the quality of the proxies you were using. They may have a bad history on Twitter. Or it could be the quality of the accounts. It's hard to say without knowing all the details.

With new accounts, I usually start with following 5-10 people a day, with long delays between follows, for a week or so just to be safe. Then I slowly increase that and begin to test the limits. I have never had a problem with this, even when managing hundreds of accounts in Tweet Demon.

I also post a lot of tweets without links during that time.

I've used these proxies for about 2 years without any problem, so I'd have to severely doubt that being the cause.

The settings I used is what worked before the API changes as I did my own trials with a lot of accounts and they worked even with brand new accounts. So maybe certain limits have been changed to raise a red flag and I'll need to do another trial session. Even 50 follows per day with longer delays could work, if you have 100+ accounts. It's still following 5000 people a day overall.

That's very sad. I've been reading on TD forum someone had an experiment and found out that TD follows/unfollows same users several times which leads to accounts suspensions. How can you check it with many accounts and how you can trust to precision of any bot?

In this instance I wasn't doing any unfollowing and Account A hadn't done any unfollowing at all, so there was no possibility it could have been following the same person twice.

You could well be right in other cases, but in this one it just seems following 22 people every 5-6 minutes got the account suspended.

Edit: To find out the accounts you've already followed go to TweetDemon > Data > Followed and open it with Notepad++

Btw just checked TD forum - another possible cause of your problem ( someone said there) that with new API Twitter droped calls per hour from 320 to 60. But TD creators said they will not use API in their latest update. Seems like there are a lot of suspensions lately for unknown reasons

Yeah the drop in calls per hour is correct, but I don't think following uses a [GET] command (API call), so not sure that's the reason.

Here is the post I've mentioned before:

The unfollow function is not working properly. I have suspected for some time that there was an issue, but did a test today and confirmed it.

I have attached a screenshot, so you can see that my settings are fine.
I am following other users followers.

This morning I took a note of a person who I had just followed a few minutes earlier, I left it for 2 hours and then ran the unfollow sequence, which was set to unfollow users who I had been following for at least 10 days.

Unfortunately TD unfollowed the same person I had followed a few hours earlier.
This is a matter of great urgency as your software is useless without the unfollow function.
I surprisingly had a long established account suspended last week, I use private proxies and had only been following a relatively small number of people. Now I realise the account was suspended as i have been following and unfollowing the same people for the last week, in fact probably since I bought your software.
Can you please let us know when this issue has been fixed (hopefully today!)

Let's hope they fix that after they've sorted the API update.

I'm no longer using accounts that have a decent following with TD. I'm just sticking with what I have and will use TD on new accounts to try and build up slowly. It's not worth risking established accounts on so I'll just stick with the followers I have.

I'm pretty sure it was your proxy that caused that. confirm that by following others via the proxy but manually from your browser

I'm pretty sure it wasn't. It happened with 2 separate proxies and I've been using those with other accounts without any problem.

Like I've said 3 times, I'm sure it's not the proxies - in fact I've just noticed I used the same proxy 2 days ago and it followed over 200 in a day no problem.

So suggestions excluding proxies please.

Surely 22 isn't too much, so maybe the delays have to be longer than allowed since before the API changed.

Unfortunately with TD it'll take longer to do a new trial you can't set separate delay limits for each account, like you could on Tweet Adder, but longer than 5 to 6 minutes looks to be the way forward.

And how many tasks were you running at the same time in the follow module? Was it just those 2 accounts? How many proxies do you have

I was running 5 tasks - with 5 separate proxies (which rules out too many tasks being the problem).

I have 20 proxies so far, but was using just 5 of them. I was using the same 20 on Tweet Adder for over 12 months with no issue.

it's either because of the new API or it's because TD is following the same people over and over.. something is definitely up after the update though

The thing is, with one of my accounts I was following for the first time - there weren't any to unfollow so it was definitely following people for the very first time.

Maybe Twitter's update now knows when automated bots are being used? Or maybe either 5-6 minutes is too quick when you start from following 0 people, or 22 people is too much.

Seems strange though. I'm sure people would naturally follow more than 22 people even after creating a new account, and every 5-6 minutes is hardly quick.
