Here is a picture I took of the bits I used before I started. The first camera i stripped down was a little too big for the waterproof housing, so I went and got a logitec one with auto focus.

drilled a small hole in the back of the case, then soldered the usb extension cable, glued the circuit board in place and sealed around the hole i drilled.

I feel like a voyeur. I'm just waiting for the girl to come sit on the toilet lol.

Just shut down my marine tank.

Some nice fish there bro :)

Thats awesome. Seems like you have quit a strong stream going, little Dory is getting washed all over the place :-)

Beautiful fish you have there. I think if you put the camera a little higher in the tank, it will look better.

To me fish are the perfect pet.

WOW! You've a live e-aquarium now! It will help people with high BP, nerves, insomnia... think of it (you must have already :))

Btw, the vignetting (at the edge, that blue mask) needs to be taken care of, and also the depth of field should be increased (try using a wider focal-length lens, or keep the camera at a longer distance than where it is now).

Would love to see that bigger aquarium all lit up subtly and fish and the water plants, and... lol

Would also love to see a small octopus with them. It would be a show-stealer, es during football World Cup season. :)

Anyway, it IS very lovely right now too!

There is a live feed to every "squirt n jerk" fishbowl in Asia...

Smart thinking...:p

Great job and nice tank G-S-T. How big is this one?
I just started with this hobby too but at the moment only have a freshwater one (Juwel Rio 125). It's great fun to watch and a very entertaining and relaxing hobby.
I'm planning to get some more after my girlfriend and I move to a bigger house. I would love to have a huge saltwater one.
Don't forget to put up pics of the new one you're getting.

Now if you can come up with a way to sell packets of
Virtual Fish Food for $5 a pop so that the visitors to
your page could feed them, you could make bank! :)

Cheers! - "Wiz"

Thanks, this one is 140 gallons including the sump. The next one will be 350 gallons and I will move the 2 tanks that are currently in the living room into the back room. Otherwise the place will look too much like a pet shop.

The new one is going to look amazing, I have spent the last week prepping it, must have driven to every pet shop in a 150km radius, looking for the perfect pieces of rock for the aquascape.

Here is a full width shot of the current tank.

Ignore the bottle trap, I was catching one of the small fish that was fucking with the status quo.

The current tank is 50cm tall, the new one will be 100cm tall, 170cm wide and 70cm deep.

The new one will have a similar mound of rocks type aquascape, but with a pillar of rocks either side of the mound. I will push them towards the back corners of the tank, this will fill a bit more of the vertical space so the top portion does not look bare and still allow for a lot of swimming room.

This has already been discussed with my friend today. I have all the equipment here to do it, you can buy digital fish food dispensers for when your on holiday, its just a matter of opening one up and wiring it up to the usb port and it can receive commands to dispense at will.

Going to be a fun little project this ;)
