GST what type of bait were you both using? I purposely was targeting Alligator Gars before and heard they are most active at night.
So I went night fishing. Used a 4/0 hook with live minnows. However I was unsuccessful. I river rigged it.
You have inspired me to start a Saltwater aquarium. However I am trying to get over the RO/DI water issue.
Apparently unlike tropical fish aquariums you cannot use tap water and the solution to decolonize it.
I also heard you can buy distilled water. I want to go big with it. Maybe a 500 Gallon to divide my living room and kitchen but
cannot buy gallon jug distilled water lol. So do you use distilled water for yours? I also have the option of artificial live rock.

Good for you man, go all out. Regarding water. I used distilled water for months, but its actually cheaper to buy a RO/DI filter, it will pay for itself within a couple of months, especially if your going for 500 gallons, 25-50% water changes monthly are going to put a hole in your wallet if your buying all that distilled water. Better to buy a few large containers and run your own RO/DI.
I bought a new fish today. 6 inch Emperor Angelfish, just starting to change into its adult form. Gonna put the webcam on now for you to have a look.

i like the clown fish! Reminds me of finding nemo.

I upgraded my tank to a 500 gallon one and after a week the bottom panel cracked, so its getting a thicker piece fitted and my fish are all spread out in tempory tanks in the spare room.
The new tank will be ready in about 10 days, so I will put the stream back up then.
What kind of fash are you planning on putting in the cube? I prefer tangs and angelfish, so I like longer tanks rather than cubes.
