Hey everyone, I'm new here. I'm building backlinks for my website, but still confused about this. When I post comments on a website post which has a page rank like 5 and the post on which I'm commenting on has a page rank of N/A is that useful? In my opinion the page on which i'm commenting on should have a high page rank so my link can be considered a quality backlink. Or it doesn't matter? Am I wrong? Just the domain with high rank matters in this? Please explain me this. Thanks everyone.

Pagerank will only be passed from pages that have pagerank, and if the link is ********. In your example, if the (home page of) the domain name has PR5, and if you post your link on a N/A PR page, basically is a non-pr link, so no big gain, but is still useful in some extent.

You need the actual page on which your backlink appears to have as high PR as possible

Thanks for the clear answer. So to get quality backlinks i need to mak sure that the page on which i'm posting on has a higher PR. But why do I see people saying to post on article directories to get high PR backlinks? Just for instance I post on Ezinearticle site, and put my link in there, does that mean that I've got a high PR backlink? I'm not clear on that point! Why do people post on those article directories sites but they know that the post's PR is not something high?

What about artice directories? Why do people just think that the domain has a high PR and they post in there? Are they sure that their post would hav high PR?

because most of those directories have pretty high authority on a domain level, plus are speedy crawled by the SEs and your backlinks gain from those benefits.

I agree with you. But I read somewhere that better go for quality backlinks than quantity. So with that idea, i did some searches and someone stated in WarriorForum thatwe need to promote our ezinearticles just like our websites so they can have high rank. This is doing double work. I actually want to promote my site, getting backlinks to it. But just a quick question: A site that has a high PR like 4 for example won't have posts within it automatically PR 4. So what's PR useful for? if i want my article to rank.

don't listen to all those "gurus" at WF. I don't pretend to know more than them, but here on this forum you will find better advice for sure!
Yes, when doing backlink building you regularly need to do double/triple/quadrupal work, as you build on tiers and you need to take care of each tier.

For me it is always better to get a do follow backlink from a high pr page, rather than no pr page on domain with high authority. Nowadays it is tough to rank just with high quality backlinks, as those are hard to build yourself and you regularly need to purchase them. Thats where the tiered linkbuilding comes in as you can do that by yourself

So, you need to make yourself a linkbuilding strategy and stick to it.

great topic as i always thought about this, some intressting comments

So, to make it simple I ordered a fiverr giggs but got nothing from that. That's why, hopeless I gave up fiverr backlinks and started to do manual backlinks. So, can anyone reassure me on this? Without backlink for even unique content on article directories the page won't have a high PR?

couldn't understand you what you mean on this..

I mean, even if I post unique content on enzinearticle or other article directory sites and haven't tried to get backlinks to that post will it still have high PR?

concentrate on relevancy and you'r golden now and in the future. PR thing will expire soon enough. Relevancy is a key.

Thanks bro, Right now I have with general keyword something like : findoutwhydotcom (Not really my site but it's something like that) so I know i'm not gonna rank for that keyword. Was stupid to buy that domain name. I wanted diversity on my site instead of talking of only one thing. Now I'm just putting content hoping that I will get some that will be on first page. My content are written by myself.

no, it won't have high pr

Note that most comments are nofollow which will not pass PR. Make sure to make relevant coments so those who see will want to click on your home page link.

Sky Fact No.1- Do not expect ANYTHING if your SEO strategy is FIVERR gigs
Sky Fact No.2- Don't listen when people say that you won't get any PR juice if the page you posted your article/link has no PR. People usually post their links on some crappy/fake PR5-PR6 home page sites/blogs and of course that PR N/A page on that site is worthless.
Sky Fact No.3- Most links from comments area are No- f ollow (You can install SEO Quake toolbar to see if the links are no or do follow at real time, http://www.seoquake.com/)
Sky Fact No.4 - 90% of the people on this and other forums will probably tell you how you should go for tiered link building, but I think http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/my-journey-discussions/576833-different-sensible-open-business-dont-start-method-goal-1000-day.html what ever you do. If majority say that something is good this means -Don't do it. People stay in the crowd because it is warm and "safe" there.
Sky Fact No.5- Check out Sky Fact No.1

But the purpose of making those comments is getting baklinks, not yet traffic from it. If the backlink is no follow google doesn't think about it. So my goal is to get more backlinks so my site will be able to face the competition, you know what i mean.

If you consider about getting link juice then you need to get backlinks form High PR + Do follow sites and yes it's better if you can get directly from a High PR page instead getting a backlink from a inner page with no PR, but that's also valuable to have backlinks from inner pages if their main domain has PR5 or above.
