You are totally right but if you have a website/s which earns a few thousand $$$$ a month from organic traffic you probably will try to protect your investment.

That post by Link Assistant is entirely just about selling their product as a solution. Anyone else notice how they didn't mention any other competing tools that could be used for an even more comprehensive approach like Ahrefs, Majestic SEO, etc?

Nor did they talk about what to do if you are under a sustained negative SEO attack.

Prune your baclinks regularly. Check your link profile every few days. If you screw up with your SEO or SEO service or got hit by NEG SEO contact Google immediately. Use Linkdetox, export bad links and load em' in Google disavow tool. It is working only if you take action in a timely manner. We got a few clients up this way. And read SkyrocketSEO post again.

JustUs it is sales pitch no doubt but it is a good read. Let's not talk about alexa and concentrate on the big picture. It can be abused but since most people don't care about it not many will try tricks like yours so that theory might be true.

I quite agree, it's a sales pitch but it's a good read. Some may not agree on the importance of this or that point, but that's the thing about SEO - it consists of multiple points. Just skip irrelevant stuff and focus on what you assume is important.

It's always interesting to read stuff like this, personally, when it comes to what makes a good link and I'll be sticking to my own knowledge and instinct.

On the subject of SEO guru's, one of the best things I did this year was to stop wasting my time reading their posts and contributions.

Places like SEOmoz are so deluded its not even funny, you get thread after thread of people pretending as though they have never built a link in their life. Then questioning why they don't rank.

You've also got Rand using his twitter account to public witch hunt SEO agencies/individuals that have outranked his buddies at Distilled for keywords such as SEO agency NYC etc.

Honestly, I like useful information just like everyone else on this forum. The hardest pill to swallow is using Spy Glass for backlink analysis. Its probably the worst backlink tool in the market. Ahrefs and Majestic trump it any day of any week!
